I'm seriously considering getting Lasik surgery. But my eyes are so bad it a) wont fully correct my vision, and b) will cost ~$3000 per eye due to the severity of the correction.
In recent months I've noticed a decreased quality of life due to my crud eyes. There have been multiple instances where I knock off my glasses from my bedside table or when I put on a hoodie. And I'm like Velma, pawing around on the floor trying to find them. I end up having to call a neighbor to help find my glasses.
Plus, my prescription is so strong that the lenses shrink down the world I see, such that recently, when I picked up a Quarter without my glasses on and looked at it closely, I thought it was a half-dollar, as the 'real thing' looked huge compared to what my glasses do.
Above is an approximation of me looking at my iphone about 12 inches from my face. The image gets worse at it gets further away. Without glasses, I can only see an object 2.5 inches from my face. and close or further becomes a blur.
I don't expect full correction. But if I could read a book right in front of me or use my computer without spectacles, I would be so much happier. My lenses skew images such that a circle looks more like an oval, plus the shrink. Plus I have the thinnest glasses available, and they are still over a centimeter thick... I went to get clip-on sunshades and the guy didn't think he had any that could fit over my lenses.
This is my subtle way of saying I might do fundraiser once I get talented enough to actually draw stuff for peoples xD

Yeah contact lenses is a good idea, except that its nothing else to do than the eye surgery..
Do you have a job or something? You could try to work a lot extra for a while and spare up some money? Or open commissions for fun! Just show people what you can offer and you are all set :3

And don't say that, you are way better than a lot of people I've seen doing commissions :P Just put a lot of effort into anatomy, perspective and coloring! It takes a lot of time but will pay of in the end :3
I have some good tutorials archives that i use a lot, so i can send them to you if you need it, and a deviant art folder with different things, so if you need help don't be afraid to ask!
