You would be surprised at some certian animal friendships. A lot of solitary animals have surprising symboitic relationships, my personal favorite is coyotes and badgers. Badgers rarely interact with anything but the realtionship between them, they work surprisingly well together. This has always baffled me because as previously stated, badgers are solitary and antisocial. However, recent events explain how it makes sense, now let me take you to a nice time in a smalll house in the subarbs. There was a person living alone with his collie dog and often has a pest problem, most prominantly badgers. It has gotten to the ponit that he had to put traps out. Catch and release traps, he has no desire to harm an animal for its mere presence, but he still doesn't want these badgers digging holes through out his back yard. One night a badger was caught out in the rain and the person felt bad that he had to be in the rain so he desided to put the badger in his garuge for the night.
As he wen't outside to bring the badger in, he picked the trap up, but the badger was resistant, but he managed to bring him in easily. When he brought the badger in, his dog started barking uncontrolably, not liking the smell of wet badger... but the man managed to calm him down. When he set him down, he was about to simply leave him alone, but the badger looked hiim in the eyes for a moment and the man was caught in his gaze asit gave a faint chitter. After about ten seconds, he looked away and decieded to bring him one of his dog's treats then went to bed. The dog was not pleased... The dog went in to the garauge and looked at the badger chewing on a faux meat stick made of things the author doesn't want to describe... and he had some things to say.
"Hey, I beg and do tricks for those, why would he give that away to some stranger rummaging through his back yard, I get sprayed with a water bottle when I do that, what gives?" he asked with some anger and jealousy.
"Oh I just got some good qualities, let's just leave it at that..." the badger responded as he simply closed his eyes and fell asleep, or atleast pretended to to get the dog out. The dog was confused by this remark and left the garauge, wanting to know what was up the badger's sleeve. The badger did have a plan, but it had only just begun, and it has a long way to go...
The next morning, the man awoken and after making himself a pot of coffee, he went into the garauge and let the badger out of the cage, but instead of setting him in the wild, he let him run about in the living room. When the dog had awaken, he was curious as to why he was still in the house but he couldn't ask anyone about it. The man was doing his morning routine in the dark because he cannot handle light in the morning, which causes problems, as if nothing was different: he made waffles, turkey bacon, & hash browns, put on his Wensday outfit, drank four mugs of vanilla coffee, nothing different in his book. The only thing he did differently was instead of filling one dog bowl, he filled two, one for the dog and one for badger. Again, the dog was very jealous of the badger, he didn't want him to stay but was even more confused as to why he wsa even there in the first place. The man was going to take the collie for a walk like every day at 8:30, but as he grabbed the leash, the badger looked into his eyes again and instead he just put the dog outside then picked up the badger and sat on his recliner petting him softly. The dog was barking a lot in anger at the two but it didn't seem to bother the man, he was too distracted by the badger to care.
Later that day, he let the badger outside to take a nap and play with the dog. The dog walked right over to him and demanded to know what on earth he was doing in his home and he wasn't gonna let him be all vague again! "Hey dirty, last time i checked this is my home and i am his pet, not you, so why is he acting all lovey dovey with you, and i want to know now!"
"Oh don't worry, i'm not gonna stay here very long and am not going to become his new pet, you have nothing to worry about, and I only plan to stay for a few more days, happy now?" the badger asked as he went to sleep again, also trying to get out of the conversation. The dog tried to get him to explain more but to no avail, he could have bitten him to get him to wake up but with how the man has been treating the badger, he knew that would not be a good idea...
"Hey, I know you're faking, just know this is not over!"
"I can't hear you, I'm sleeping..." the badger sarcastically told the dog.
It was now the end of the day and the dog just wanted to sleep so the few days can end sooner and he can get the man back to himself. The dog got to his bed by the couch and got very comfortable. He was about to doze off but he noticed that the man was taking the badger to bed with him. This got him very confused because he wasn't even allowed upstairs yet. He tried to follow them upstairs but the man kept directing him back to his bed, now he was feeling a bit sad as well as angry and jealous.
The man placed the badger in the bed in the position a dog would be while he went to change into his night clothes. When he came back he happily hopped into the bed and was about to easily fall asleep (these guys can apparntly fall asleep very easily) but he felt the badger crawl up to him and the man thought he could cuddle with him for a moment. As he picked him up, he said, "who's a good little badger?" and the badger then respinded with...
"Thank you..." the badger responded verbally. The man was shocked and confused, a badger just spoke to him. The man was confused unutil the badger looked him in the eyes again as he pet him and noticed there was a change in them this time, rather than being black, they were spirals, blue and black spirals, and he couldn't take his now spiriling eyes off of them or this increasingy perfectly seeming badger...
The next morning, the man brought the badger down to do his morning routine with him, still in the dark with struggle and did not want to let him out of his sight. He made his coffee, waffles, turkey bacon, hash browns, and still managed to pet the badger through out it. When the dog had awaken, he noticed there was only one food bowl out and happily came to it, thinking he was alone again. Before he got to it, he was baeten by the badger, and he realized only one was put out for him, and he looked uoset. At first the badger didn't care but sense the author of this story has a big heart, the badger let the dog eat a bit, but he was still super jealous. This still didn't change the badger's motives and afterwards, the dog was put outside again, and it was just the man and the badger. When the badger hoped on the couch with the man, he said some kind words that developed much more later on... and the man just followed on as he was in the badger's trance and just wanted to follow his words.
"Now listen to me, you care only about me, the badger is your only concern, is this correct?" he asked
"Yes... I only care about you, the badger is my only concern..."
The badger snapped him out of the trance and the man simply pet the cute badger with full attention. The dog looked through the window and was even more jealous than Nick Jonas...
It was bed time again and the badger had the next part of his plan... When they were about to go to sleep, the badger looked at the man with his spinning eyes again... And he had him just where he wanted. Remember the intro where badger's close friends were mentioned? It comes to play now... Looking into the badger's spinning eyes, the man was going to change...
"Now listen here, I am going to change you, tomorrow you are going to wake up and your sense of smell will be so much stronger, as strong as a coyote's sense of smell, you will be using it more, in fact you will use it as your primary sense, just sniff around looking for our objects and food, do you understand?"
"Yes master... my sense of smell is what I will use..."
The next morning, they awoke and managed to do the routine with ease, in the dark, because the man was sniffing the room searching for their things, again leaving the dog confused. As the man was sniffing everything like a coyote, from his food to his couch to his trash to well everything, just like any canine, and the dog confronted the badger and wanted to know what the heck was going on, and they ad just awaken so there was no getting around it this time, so the badger gave in.
"Oh I'm so far in I might as well tell you, I've first hypnotized the man into wanting me to be his closest friend, then I made his devotion stronger, but now, he is on his way to becoming a coyote, a badger's best friend, he'll be going with me in the woods to hunt, and play, so there." the badger explained to the dog's surprise.
"Before I tear you to shreads, give me one reason why I shouldn't tear you to shreads you freaking sociopath! That is so wrong I can't even describe it, and again' give me a reason why I shouldn't tear you to shreads!" the dog yelled in anger, but the badger wasn't phased or scared or anything, he planned on this.
"One, have you seen a badger fight? We can hold on a lot, two, I've got control of that guy, kill me and what happens to him? And three... you don't really mind his transformation..." the badger responded to the dog with confidence as he gave the reasons then looked the dog in the eyes with his hypnotic stare, and after some fighting, the dog became submissive and lost all his jealousy and anger, and was happy to let the transformation happen to the man...
When the badger caught the attention of the man while he was sniffing his own socks, he told him to hold out his palm and the badger bit the hand... After the man yelled in pain, he felt odd, he felt as if he couldn't stand, and he fell over on all fours. When he fell over he noticed that his colors were changing, instead of seeing every colou, he could suddenly only see yellow and blue. He noiced that his clothes felt a lot more loose, and the first thing to fall orr were his shoes and socks, as his feet had become canine paws, as he continued to shrink, his knees changed direction, with them bending backwards now, and have a nail coming off from it. His hands changed into paws as well as he shrank to the ponit where his shirt couldn't fit anyomore and it fell off. Once that happened he felt a strange sensation growing in his pants as he got happier... no not that, this is a clean story! He was growing a tail! A great long tail. His head was changing next, his face grew into a muzzle, that ended with his new powerful nose turning black, and wet. His ears then grew out to be pointy and moved to the top of his head. Right when he finished shrinking, to the point that he lost all is clothes, he was covered with nice, beautiful brown fur, he was now a coyote, the perfect friend for the badger!
The badger had his friend, the coyote and the badger ran out of the house to be hunting and playing mates, and they are happy with this new life. Of course the coyote is still hypnotized to follow the badger's commands, but canines are naturally submissive, so that's alright. Oh and don't worry about the dog, the neighbors are very kind people, and they only get skunks to infest their yards...
