Well it looks like you have talent there JD and I mean that.! With a few hints and some practice I think you could become quite good at it

Seeing as it is your birthday ok! *grins* Hmmmm...first lesson always start light then go dark, you can never amke anything lighter with pencils or any other traditonal work, there simply is no undo button. :)

Colors also tend to like to get layered. I can't really tell you how to do this, it's one of those things to be seen. But to make green for instance mix blue and yellow, the lighter you want to green more yellow you add, blue for darker. That is if you have color pencils that blend.
