I get that Edward was trying to break up Derek and Scott. It's plausible that he cares for Derek in his own twisted way and believes he is protecting his roommate. So maybe Edward isn't as evil as he appears to be at the moment. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.
My questions are: Why go to the trouble only to move out and leave town? And why would Mike go along with this sham? I expect those answers will come as the story continues to unfold.
