Name: Arbok
Classification: Cobra
Type: Poison
Number: 024
Evolution: Ekans – Arbok (level 22)
Length: 6 metres
Weight: 65 kilograms
Animal type: Reptile, snake
Description: Arbok is one of the universally most feared pokémon. This is not surprising, considering that this snake can easily kill a human. It is one of the few snakes that will attack humans without provocation. It will pursue prey over large distances. They can grow to be slightly over 6 metres long, with the record being 6.57 metres. Females usually grow larger than males. It is possible that larger Arbok exist in the wild. Some claim to have encountered much larger specimens, but these are not officially recognised because no pictures were taken. One particularly popular tale is that of Dr. Carl Luftstein, who wrote the following in 1934:
‘… when suddenly, a great shape rose from the tall grass. We stopped dead in our tracks, staring at the creature that I only recognised after some thought to be an Arbok. Its shield was so great as to dominate our view and its head was many feet above us: my companions guess it was as much as twelve feet. This would indicate the entire snake be at least fifty feet [16.6 metres] in length, if it, like other Arbok, only raises a specific part of its body. My companions were in panic, as we could never escape such a beast, and I fired my rifle at it in despair. This was, in hindsight, a foolish thing to do as Arbok easily attack. Yet my shot must have hit it painfully, as it gave a furious hiss and sank back in the grass. We stood motionless for many minutes, expecting at any moment to see one of us plucked away from our midst, but nothing happened.’
Many have since tried to find an Arbok of this size, but with no luck.
Arbok has a reputation for hypnotising its prey with the pattern on its shield. In fact, this ‘hypnotising’ is the prey’s paralyzing fear at seeing the giant ‘eyes’ on the shield. Many prey species will play dead when fleeing is no longer an option. Humans are generally not hypnotised by this display, except in the cases of extremely guilible individuals who have heard this Arbok myth. Arbok from different regions can be identified by subtle differences in the shield patterns. Arbok trainers have a reputation for being reckless thrill seekers for a good reason. Arbok kill their prey by constriction, but contrary to Ekans also have a deadly bite. Its venom can kill an adult human within an hour if no antidote is given. Children usually die within minutes, too quickly for any medical aid to arrive. Surprisingly, some people seem to be imune to this venom. A lot of research is being done to ascertain how this immunity evolved. Many Arbok trainers periodically donate venom from their Arbok for the making of antidotes.
A lot of study has gone into how Arbok understands the instruction given to it during battle, as it is technically deaf. In 2002, a research team discovered that Arbok have a small organ on either side of their skull, that allows it to pick up soundwaves – though this cannot be compared to actual hearing. It merely learns to associate specific soundwaves with specific instructions. This is why one Arbok will not listen to the same command when given by another trainer, or even by the same trainer with a cold or soar throat: the sound waves are too different for it to recognise and it can not recognise ‘the sound’.
The weight given above is that of an Arbok just before feeding, as it can consume prey of 100 kilos in one go.

How freakin' perfect!
I really love that face and the scales!
I can see how Arbok would kill by constriction because of it's body length and size. I personally think it could kill through both bite and spitting poison (like a Black Mamba). But some other parts of that description are very interesting like talking about how it hears through waves and such.
