Well, if you do happen to want one, just let me know, and what colours you'll need. I can change the pattern in various ways, too. For these, I'm thinking, that because it takes me about five hours to make one, I was considering about $50-$60 to be fair. That's mostly for the labour- the fabric really doesn't cost all that much.
*giggles* Coolness! Me, I mostly have the one "personality"- cracked like an egg... Bear tails would be a lot cheaper, I mean, c'mon, they're little! And a Racoon? Probably 40 bucks, tops, unless I have to tint the faux fur myself- that takes several hours (or I could just sew it in strips). If there are any odd colours, you just have to let me know what they are and I'll use or make that. The $50-$60 buck range is for more complicated things like these dragon tails- it's because of the many pieces I have to make (those plates) before I can even assemble it.
I'm considering various ideas on how to hold the tail onto one's belt- I'm not fond of the elastic I see on a lot of them, mostly because it tends to lose it's spring, after a while.

*chuckles* I'm not referring to those elastic bands the postmen use to hold their mail together. I mean the elastic fabric stuff people use in the waistbands of clothing. *has a "gun" technique for firing elastics at people's heads- you hook one end over your pinky, then pull the elastic over your palm, over the thumb, and hook the other end onto your index finger (your thumb keeps it there). Your paw should look like you're mimng a cocked gun. When you let go with your pinky, the elastic fires off, hopefully in the direction you want. Heh*
its not
its a blow to ones self image my mate was 'well if it was my foot id just do it not even give it a second thought'
i got quite mad with her for all the good it did she has never faced something like that and
in the end i did it not for me or cause it needed to be done but for her since she seemed to think it had to be
just a bit of resentment as the guilt she laid on me was not fair and shes played the card before its lost its effect
i did it to stop her
anyhow the contoured foot plate helps to keep a shoe from folding right infront of the abrupt end the 'pixy' toe effect it also as it flexes a bit but also resists bending to much gives the stride a much more normal gait which right now i walk hop on one side

I can imagine it would be. Me, I'm having to learn to deal with losing my hair- not a fun thing for anyone, but particularly for a female in this vain society. I don't know how well I'd deal with losing part of a limb, though if were to lose my left paw- I think I'd freak. I'm a lefty and I need that paw to draw with. I don't write or draw quite as well with my other paw, though it's legible... I guess, for me, it would be a practical thing, that and losing some mobility would be depressing for me, too- I like being able to run around and stuff. I never appreciated how much I enjoyed just movement until I blew a tendon in a baaad way in my right knee and had to hobble on a cane for six months. And later, when I was diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis in my lower spine, I had to accept the possibility that I might be confined to a wheelchair in the near-future...
Getting older is beginning to suck... *chuckles*
Cool that the foot-plate gives you back some of that mobility, though- neat idea, a prosthesis that you can slip into a shoe and who would know?

for someone who's been so poor that asprin were expensive being locked into only this only that and a series of meds its very troubling
watched mother drake (better known as satin tigeress) be sick an suffer because she wasnt able to get her meds she had to have
i dont want that future
yet thats where the corral panels are forcing me to go... so many people dont understand what innocence really is
its not knowing what fate has in life for you thats the real innocence
being badly jaded today, sorry

*just hugs you in understanding* Nothing wrong with letting out some of the frustration, hon. I can relate to the "too poor to buy" thing. Heck, I once put a piar of pants on layaway for a couple of months 'cuz I couldn't afford 'em. True, they were expensive, but they were that Goth stuff (and from a company hard to find in Winnipeg) I get such a kick out of and will wear to rags, after... I'm lucky in that Canada has universal health care, so I only have to pay for my meds, if I'm not on Social Assistance.
But, now that you folks have Obama for your new prez, you may be able to at last have something similar! I'm hoping for it, I am. *nuzzles your cheek in friendly support*

*grins- she's had similar suspicions about Obama* I'm one of those who may not entirely trust the guy (but then I don't trust anybody, especially politicians), but I kind of like him anyway. I do hope he is an honest sort and will do his best to keep all those sky-high promises he'd been making. Like you, I'm not too trusting of such whip-it-up orating, but on the other paw, McCain looked like a guy about to crack and go on a shooting-spree (either that, or keel over from simple old age). I've heard a few uncomfortable reports about his temper. There is something deeply disturbing to me about that man...
We'll see how it goes. Still hoping for Universal Health care for your country, though- it cant be that friggin' hard, even Canada has it...

Cool idea! I've never really thought about it- but I don't think mine is completely prehensile (at least, not by the metnal image I have of my dragon-self). It can grasp things but not very strongly... It would be an adorable pic if you'd wrapped your tail around the wrist of your mate like you were holding paws...
Heh, me too! I've only gotten the chance to see a few heads up close and a couple of tutorials online. I have some ideas that might work, too- just have to try them. Checked out a "How-to" mascot vid on Youtube, some stuff by Beeltlecat and others, comparing how the "professionals" do it vs amateurs like me. I'm pretty detail-oriented, so we'll see how well my attempts come out.
