--Valtiel, a monster and governing angel within Silent Hill 3. He serves as an attendant to God, and is charged with safeguarding Heather Mason while the unborn deity grows within her. It is by his turning of the valves that Silent Hill shifts between the Real World and the hellish Otherworld--
He is also a plush doll almost 4 years in the making, and is more precious to me than I can ever describe.
When I played SH3 I was immediately enamored with Valtiel. He’s a fascinating monster compared to all the other denizens of Silent Hill. I was also surprised to find him much less popular than his counterpart, Pyramid Head. At the time I had a plush of Pyramid Head, and I decided I could make one of Valtiel to even the score. I bought the fabric, gave it some thought, attempted to make a pattern and…….ran screaming from the project, terrified of trying to wrap my head around the wonder that is sewing. Fast forward to November 2014. By now I had taught myself to sew, and to pattern, and was ready to tackle my long-abandoned project. And here we are.

Valtiel is the first serious plush I’ve ever tried to sew. He is 100% hand-sewn, has an interior armature to make him poseable (even the tongue!), and is about 15 inches tall. All patterns were made by me. His outfit, including his boots, were also handmade by me. And are fully removable. Valtiel and his clothing were also completely hand-painted to achieve the darker tones prevalent in Silent Hill.
I got a lot of help/inspiration/motivation from my Valtiel Statue made by Trims Japan. Seeing the details in the statue really helped me get a grasp on his surprisingly complicated design.
It’s still something of a dream to me that I was able to make Valtiel. He has been a goal of mine for so long, and now that he exists I feel ready to move on to other bigger and better projects, and having him around will be my greatest motivator of all.

Valtiel plush doll, all patterns, clothing, and props belong to me, Whisski.
