~ This stunning piece is loosely inspired from the Hunab Ku, the Galactic Center Mayan symbolism with Jaguar energy. The balance of Night and Day is represented by the two aspects of Jaguar totem medicine. Jaguar to me is strength in Shamanic vision and being the warrior in your dreams. Embracing both aspects, the shadow and the enlightened.
Painted in Acrylic by the Artist on a 20 inch cow skin hoop drum made by Taos Drums, Taos, NM
Includes custom beater and cord for display.
The beater is wrapped in deer skin and antique ocelot fur from a vintage coat. Moulted scarlet macaw feathers and glass beads. Antique Ocelot fur is also adhered to the hand rest on the back of the drum.
The drum is fully useable for ceremony or pleasure and has a lovely mid range tone to it. It has a clear coat acrylic varnish on the painting and will protect the image from fading or cracking. However the image should be protected from any kind of abrasive or sharp objects. Only use a soft beater or hands free of rings to play it.
The Drum comes with a life time re-touch up of the painting should it be damaged. ~
