FA Study - Zang @ anubiis_werewolf
Study of
anubiis_werewolf's OC Zang (used with permission). Took about 3 hours to complete.
Basically tried to do an exaggerated body mass artwork. I'll leave it up to the viewer whether I did good or not.
I do plan to do a few more character studies (with permission of course). This is largely practice for my art.

This is a shameless plug, but you can check for similar pics in my gallery if you're interested. It's a small variety but I do have a couple macros, muscle, and similar pics to this.
I'm still interested in doing FA studies of some of the OCs here on FA. I've been going around looking for pics that interest me enough that'd I want to give my take on it, haven't found any yet though. C:
In any case, thanks for your comment. It appeared to be more popular than I thought it'd be (probably because Anubiis is well known here on FA).

Ehh, to be frank, I would not have asked Schwartzgeist if I could do a study of his tiger MG pic if we went by your logic... probably not Anubis for his study pic either as that was the very first time we'd ever interacted with each other (same with Schwartzgeist).
If I declined you, it'd be because of disinterest and a lack of personal inspiration in what I'd possibly be drawing, not because you are a 'nobody'. It does not bother me that much if strangers inquire requests from me, afterall ALL relationships in life started as 'strangers', and sometimes I could use the practice.
It's more that I am more interested in drawing orcs, minotaurs, and various big cats (and the less common types of anthros), than I am of the more popular creatures like dragons, wolves, foxes, etc.... Especially macro-themed (I find that the latter three make up the vast majority of macro themed artworks on FA -- and arguably in general). It personally gets a little stale seeing the same subjects all the time, which is why I typically have little interest in them.
It's not to say I WON'T ever draw them - I'll do it namely for variety. And plus I too, an virtually a 'nobody' here; you're not the first person to comment that they never noticed my art until recently (Anubis was such person).

Thanks for the honesty. I do know what you're saying and how you feel though. Even though I've been in FA for 9 years it's hard to say which species is the most dominate for when it comes to ANY of the fetishes here. (well that and my bad memory don't help) That's why I love waking up, looking at my phone and seeing something NEW or INTERESTING. It could be the same thing, like say a giant lizard/reptile but I would consider it NEW or UNIQUE depending on various factors or if it's drawn in some new way.
I've always leaned more for reptiles but ever since befriending
I have started to fall more for wolfes, tigers, and other fluffy-such species. As for the Minotaurs, I have WoW to thank for my love of bovines. (obvious fact was obvious)
PS - This is my 2nd edit of this comment and I find it coincidentally funny we both end up editing our comments/replies.

I say it is mostly context here. There's a lot of blatant sexaulization of the characters depicted in the art here (and pretty much anywhere artistically focused really), there's also a lack of general inspiration gone into the concepts and many of these OCs and artworks come off as rather shallow and cliche often because of it. A lot of the culprits happen to be the three species I mention very often, which is kinda why I often don't find them very interesting. Plus a number of these kind of artists are rather elitist.
And a lot of them don't dare to try anything new, or to go just a single step further in their efforts, I can understand the reasoning for this, but I still feel it is wasted potential. Part of why I designed my OCs was to see how I could make a character that would otherwise be rather typical here (Cliff for example, is a sizeshifter with no 'hard' limit on his max size), but deconstruct them (Cliff can maintain his increased size only as long as his stamina and strength can handle; the bigger he gets, the more taxing it is on his body. He reverts if he cannot maintain it or loses consciousness. He actually prefers to be NORMAL sized, but tends to get bigger if he's agitated or stressed out).
Don't get me wrong, I like a good risque pic just like any adult here, but sometimes I really wish people focused less on the 'sex' and more on just making their works NEW or INTERESTING as you said. Granted, with the rep the FA community gets here, this could be a futile mindset.
EDIT: And yes, I do like to audit my posts, it takes me so long to even reply sometimes because of it, look I am even doing it now. D:

I understand and fully agree with everything you said. This website rarely gets anything unique, new or interesting and when it does it feels like a god-send. However, sometimes this is too much for the creator and you never get to see something like it again for a long time. I like to use this animation as an example of what we talked about because in all my 9 years of being here I have NEVER seen (nor even dreamed) of seeing something like this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14560578/
Times like these make me regret giving up drawing 15 years ago or not having the head-strong motivation to do things that people have never done/thought about, like that animation. I could have brought so many unique ideas to this website. But Im probably thinking too big for what could be a "pipe dream".

Yeah, I saw perhaps the only Orc muscle growth flash in existence, and the artist has never added anything of the sort since... Despite being totally NSFW, it was rather inspiring, again because it was the only flash animation in existence that involved orc MG.
All of this actually made me want to do my own Orc and/or minotaur MG animation, so did another of my friends, but he handles procrastination worse than I do, so in the end it may be that I might have to do it myself. I do have the means to pull it off, just need motive...
I don't think I will ever give up on something like that though, life's just too short as it is to give up even the most trivial aspirations. And I would urge you to reconsider that 'pipe dream' mindset, sometimes all it takes is just one person with a good idea. And if nothing else, it would garner you a good number of followers because you can do bring something that is unique to the community.

I just think Im too far away from picking up a pencil (virtual or not) to even consider drawing again. Procrastination and my shaky hands (and bound to get worse) don't help either. If I want to bring SOME of my ideas to life I much rather it be through means that Im familiar with or something... like a character editor/sandbox of somekind because I use my laptop pretty much everyday so that's 1 convenience/motivation for this all in 1 package.
It also doesn't help that as much as I'd like to commission a few artists for my ideas I just don't have the money, a working PayPal in over 3 years and I don't want to get shafted by some/them.

I see, I understand...
Actually... I think you can probably still do that with a vectoring program using just the mouse. Paint tool sai and gimp lets you make very good curves and outlines and such without the need of a tablet or even a pencil. And gimp can even animate pictures thru its layering system.

I made that vector layer with paint tool sai, you can then tweak the image like a mannequin to do an animation and you can even get Paint SAI free from me if you want to try it. And GIMP2 is freeware. It's not much, but it's something you should be able to do.
Either way, I do hope that one day I can at least pull off something like that linked animation.

I forgot about GIMP.
anubiis_werewolf is the one who told me about it and he got me excited to use it. I just cant stress to even download it will my semester is over on Tueday... the last few days are always the most stressful for me.

It's quite good for a freeware paint program.
What I want to do for animation is make a vector layer using Paint SAI, export the file into GIMP2 and use it to animate it. It's surprisingly easy as you can just copy the previous layer and tweak it so it appears to be moving. It's pretty much the exact same way I made this growth GIF, just make a bunch of pictures, put them all on separate layers in one file on GIMP and then use its animation tool to animate the pic. You then save the completed animation as a GIF file.
