Haha you do understand me :) The color is indeed messed up, even the color profiles aren't panacea, some software doesn't even support color profiles, like SAI for example. And there is more... Cursor calibration is lame and goes off on the edges of the screen, also there is this cursor shaking called "jitter", and the screen glass is too thick, also the device and screen itself is getting too hot, making your hand sweaty when you work a lot. Well, it is still a great tool, but i have expected a lot more for its money cost! I'm thinking of some tablet PC with windows and wacom screen now... Later cintiq series without the shortcomings of 12" cost wa-ay too much, probably aimed for professional studios rather than enthusiasts.
I don't seem to have a problem with Jittering but i do have to recalibrate the cursor from time to time. Over the years i've gotten used to the color issues and tend to just flip my SAI screen back and forth from the Cintiq to my monitor. I originally bought mine with tax refund monies and am thinking that if i get a new one i'll either do the companion or as you said a tablet PC with a monitor i can draw on like the cintiq. then i'll just sell what i have and recoup some of the money from it (i've heard you can still get an older used cintiq for about $500US.)
