Depends what you mean by "intact". :)

He still has all his memories, knowledge, talents, and so on -- he can still cast his spells, for example. (And vice versa: when he turns back to human, he remember all the stuff he got up to.) But the personality is completely different. It's not clear whether this is an entirely distinct persona (as with possession) or whether it's really just Edgar's subconscious using the werewolf thing as an excuse to turn off his inhibitions and act the way he might if the stick were removed from his arse.
