A study in how, even with the best of intentions, you can make what are the seemingly obvious right decisions and still have to look at someone and wonder if what you did was just the right thing for you but maybe not for them.
The Master has found that the Crown Price is a fur of seeming inconsistency where he is concerned... on one paw he considers the Master untrustworthy and insufferable yet on the other he knows him as predictably honourable and decisive... disquietening enough to make you say "Check, please!" when the time comes.
The meeting of the new Pack and the Does of Elfhane will be another interesting event... another case of culture clash on the menu...
Interesting that the Wolf Queen is in another of her contemplative moods. Definitely quieter for Westersloe but again it leaves us wondering what is going on in her mind.

I bet her ears went straight up when the Great Alpha was referred to as Her. She takes them under her wing, I'll bet. Figuratively, at least. Hmmmm.... Get them some femmes and maybe Queenie for support/negotiation and you could grant them lands somewhere out at the edge of the Empire, either as subjects or as a tributary realm. Probably not Bloodspear's old stomping grounds, but could be... he'd approve, I think. After what happened to him, he might appreciate a pack of wolves with a thoughtful leader.
