What is it with me and taking off the heads of all the time shifters from Flint the Time Detective? And showing it to

This one needs some explaining...in the show, Plumella can be able to turn its victims, er, I mean, innocent passerby into flat paintings. I do wonder if it can take off its head and turn one half of itself into a painting....
I assume it's female because of its many names and such, but I don't know, grammatically Japanese can get away with being vague with gender more than English can, speaking of...
Funny thing about how each language handled its name: モナリス is a pun on "モナリザ"(Mona Lisa) and リス (risu, Japanese for "squirrel"). English dub changed it to "Plumella", because, I dunno, plums = Italian??? English dub logic doesn't make a lot of sense! The Chinese translation, however, just literally called it "Mona Lisa", or 蒙娜麗莎, without any creativity whatsoever.
