I finally got to get my big guy out and have him fully inflated and standing for the first time. He's such an impressive creature to be sure. Best of all, no leaks and he appears to be in good shape

I'm not expert on the subject but these big guys are made via welding the different vinyl pieces togethe, either via a mold or by hand if it's a one off. Once complete, the "paint job" is added. It can vary a bit but usually the proess goes as follows: 1. Throw concept (and money) at an artist like Rawr, Alexia, or in Zenith's case Helsing (actually Helsing did this one for himself if I recall). If you're lucky, you can have them make a 3D model. 2. Either contact a manufacturer yourself or go through people that are experienced in dealing with them like Puffypaws, G&G, or Ammy/Derg. Typically the manufacturer is either Jets Creations or Inflatable World (German company responsible for the big green squeak dragon that is seen around FA from time to time). In Zenith's case, Puffypaws ran the project and used Jets. 3. A pre order is usually done to get the price down and to know how many units to make. This can occur with or without a prototype being made. Some folks don't even do this step and just make their own personnel toy. 4. The project leader takes the payment, pays the manufacturer, gets the toys made, and then ships them to the customer (be sure to deal with someone reputable as the project leader of course). In a one offs case, I guess you just pay Jets/IW/Whoever directly. This is, to my knowledge how these big custom creations come to be.
