I wasn't quite sure which category to stick this in, but whatever.

I did this as part of research for one of my final assignments; the assignment is to find an interesting and relatively challenging technique that can be used in Illustrator, doing it myself, take screenshots of my progress and turn them into a tutorial...basically, turning a tutorial into a tutorial I can understand and for my online classmates to look at. This was one of my search results: http://www.layersmagazine.com/imita.....er-darkly.html I decided to give it a shot, to see how difficult it is and whether it is worth the effort. I rushed it, a little. I had to "ink" all of the black and add 3-4 tones for each colour group using the pencil and eyedropper tools. I think I will keep this tutorial as a back up in case I can't find something a little bit easier.
