The LT-17B or Leap Travel Scout Ship is a staple of the Earth fleet in their exploration of space. However ships name is a bit misleading since the ship itself is not capable of Leap Travel on its own, instead it is a modular system that consist of the LT-17B that houses the pilot, controls, sensory equipment, and two Dark Matter Rail drives that interlocks with the LT-17D which is the Leap Drive its self (LT-17D Illustration Coming Later.) Using the LT-17D this ship can travel huge amounts of distance in a few seconds and is easily able to surpass the physics of speeds greater then Light speed travel. The LT-17D also acts as a return beacon for the LT-17B scout ship while it explores the destination it has Leaped to. The LT-17B is a small one person scout ship that Leaps to a target location then detaches from its main drive and explores near by planets and other spacial bodies for resources. The LT-17B scout gets around using its two powerful and extremely fast Dark Matter Rail Drives. These engines work by pulling Dark Matter in threw an attractive force and then just lets back in two normal space creating directional thrust. The term "Rail Drive" comes from the fact when scientist viewed Dark Mater on a visual scale it seem as if the ship was traveling on two threads or rails, hence its current name. While the Dark Matter Rail engine is extremely energy efficient, and moves extremely fast its still no where near the travel ability of the Leap Drive, however the Leap Drive requires large amounts of energy to function and is only good for one round trip. The Dark Mater Rail engine can easily operate continually for hundreds of years before needing to be recharged, however the engine is to slow for more then solar system travel.
