A couple bits of conceptual ideas for the armor designs of two humanoid characters I developed: Solain the Solar Warrior, and Vederi the Sunset Warrior. Solain is one the left, Vederi is on the right.
These are modified screenshots from Infinity Blade, but they're intended as armor references for the two characters. These are a baseline for the armor designs. Solain's armor is pretty close to the intended mark with the crest on the helm, spiked shield, and broad longsword and such.
Vederi is also close, but could use a bit of modification for his intended look. A bit of spiked metal along the top of his helm aimed backwards, a bit of color shifts in the black parts of his armor, and shifting it around a little more to look like a seasoned warrior whom has fought long and hard. Hence why the blade looks as worn as is down and his shield is still potent, but also weathered.
Just some ideas on my part.

Armor is quite nice, especially when done correctly. I've always adored the armor styles of games like Infinity Blade and such as they always feel practical, despite the sci-fi and fantasy elements in some of the armor pieces. Games like the Elder Scrolls series have good armor, but some are too flashy at times for my liking. I like armor that is both functional and is reasonably unique and not immensely out there. No random spikes everywhere or anything like that.
I've been playing a lot of Destiny lately which means I've had fun with the armor, plus the armor shaders, to make some cool looking gear. Yes it's sci-fi but it tends to not be ridiculous a-la Daedric Armor from Skyrim (though I do like it to a degree lol... I tend to be more of a fan of the Dwemer though, it doesn't feel as insanely over-designed and it looks absolutely intimidating with just how big and immovable you look inside of it) and since it currently has me more interested than Skyrim it's my main armor fetish source for the time being lol
