70 Years ago today, the war in Europe was over, Germany surrendered. 6 plus years of hell was finally over. The months and in some cases, years of fighting, the soldiers can finally relax, and appreciate life again.

Sat and talked with the grandfather of one of my friends yesterday, turns out he was an AA gunner in Trier during the war. Interesting to hear stories from the other side, it's not a perspective shown often. Maybe 20, 30 years from now I'll go back to Afghanistan and find someone willing to talk about being a Taliban fighter and get their story.
