This is Leon and Rain. How you get tattoo ink to show up on top of white fur is beyond me...
Really made myself slow down on this one. Usually I feel so rushed to produce. The more you produce and post the more recognizable your style and presence becomes in the community. Then here I am posting maybe once a month. WHY ADULT LIFE, WHY. I want to go back to drawing %75 of the day again.
ANYWAY, time for back story. ~
Rain ran away from an abusive home situation when he was 15. After living on the streets for a few years he met Leo and a group of his friends who were into tagging. While palling around with them Rain discovered his artistic passion for vandalism that eventually segued into the world of tattoos and piercings. Now he has his own shop who he pays his older brother to manage. Together they donate a large percentage of their annual profits to the homeless as well as LGBT youth counseling and awareness campaigns.

This is absolutely incredible o.o idk where to even start, there is so much detail! I adore the hair, the faces, the way you did the shaved parts of fur like on Rain's head. The background is beyond phenomenal so many freakin details everywhere! even a picture hanging on the wall, stickers on the cupboards, outlet and plug on the floor, flower vase, ink colors just wtf. And I cannot get how you colored their hairs. So bright and shiny and flowy. Cool dermals, awesome fluffs, and I love how skinny their legs are. Ok I shut up now.
okay so i saw this like a week ago but i have been waiting till i can get to my actual computer again because i have way too much shit to say to have typed it out on mobile.
idk if i've told you this before but i love your art so much, or rather, it has such an impact on me personally, that i can actually see probably at least 60% of the works you have made in the last 10 years like a photograph in my mind. just off the top of my head i can see the alice in wonderland one, the super busy colorful amazing one with lianas face and all those pills and needles and shit, the amazing ink piece you did of that long necked character, the bitchin one of the samurai dude on the roof, the bitchin one of you n your buddy lookin up at a spaceship, obviously every piece you have done for me, the list literally goes on. it's like every piece you make is an instant classic in my mind, and this is no exception. you are one of the few artists i know who can still make me just gaze at a piece of art for like 15 minutes and just try to take everything in. like always, this is a visual feast and i love it.
your characters have always been amazing, and i love how you have such thorough backstories for them. i have never been good with that stuff like you and actually
is another person who comes to mind. honestly pieces like this make me realize how important it is to have characters with stories that really mean something, because i can see how it pushes you to put more emotion and thought into a piece and complete it better, make it more fitting to the character (like you did with thorn jfc)
the first thing i noticed about this was all the details on the walls. you made it look and feel like an actual tattoo shop man. also had a moment of excitement when i saw vixie on the wall omg <3 its just really amazing how you can put so much detail into something like a background and have it make such a huge impact on the characters and the overall feel of the piece. your characters look beautiful as always, the fucking hair dude...loving the way you drew their eyes and facial expressions too. my favorite detail is probably that incense cone burning. even just that alone would be an amazing drawing and when you put it in a piece like this it just adds another element of WOW. i can definitely tell you took a longer time on this and slowed down, and it for sure paid off
like even the super subtle textures of the color blending on the walls and ceiling is beautiful. the wall outlets and the wheels on the tattoo chairs and even how you can see the back of the "open" sign in the window. just amazing.
you really teach me so much about art and give a new perspective on how to compose an amazing piece of artwork. thank you for being so amazing.
PS do you have character refs for these bros and liana up on here???

You are so awesome, let me just start by saying thank you for telling me all this. You know you were one of the first people to ever give me "fan art" and I never once felt like I deserved it. Still think about the needle umbrella in the first trad. liana pic you made for me, and the epic zipper mouth. Like, you didn't just look at the character you understood it. You are literally a huge reason why I want to continue to draw my characters. You motivate me to keep going when I feel like total shit. Because I know there is a beautiful person out there who is actually interested, and I don't ever want to let you down. Uhm, also I'm diggin in your gallery and I somehow don't have those faved??????????????? fixed. wtf. Your work is so amazing, traditional media is such a rare gem now a days and you totally kick it's ass all over the yard. I'm like so honored that you would even consider spending that amount of time on something for me.
Character background information helps me SO MUCH. Their personality tells you how they sit or what activities you should draw them doing. Takes the guess work out of a lot so you can focus more on the actual thing. Role Play actually helps me learn a lot about their different personalities. Even if it is suuuuper hard to find decent RP partners... ANYWAY ~ Body language is huge. I still feel like I need SO MUCH more work to get where I want to be, but comments like this remind me that while progress may feel slow, it is in fact being made. I hoped you wouldn't mind me sneaking that pic of Vixie onto the wall, lol. Sort of adopted her into my alternate universe without your permission ;.; Ah, the incense! Honestly that was the part of the entire thing that I think I ended up liking the most XD I'm totally happy that you noticed it!! The chair wheels on the other hand... I didn't even color in that one! XD Those were a biiiitch, let me tell you. Really put my tablet to good use, I can't imagine trying to undertake this traditionally. I resized so many things and tweaked the colors 500 times all thanks to the glory of digital medium.
I don't actually have any current refs. of the boys, but there is a Liana one in my scraps I think... That one is pretty accurate. I have been meaning to make one for Rain. Leo/n is still up in the air, don't have a real solid lock on what he is all about just yet.
Thank YOU for being so supportive of my expression for so long. It is literally the best feeling in the world. Couldn't continue to do it without you. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

i always feel gross and mushy and fangirlish telling you stuff but if i don't then im gonna implode or something so i hope im never annoying you ;_; i understand how important it is to have something that validates your sense of being an artist...it takes so much to create a piece of yourself to put out into the world and the best and most essential feeling is having it received and appreciated.
