First thing I thought of was one of the yoshis story games with its storybook style. This style reminded me of it.

Yes!!! So weird, after this pic I ended up drawing some yoshi story fan art while listening to the soundtrack. And now I see your comment. This pic wasn't inspired by that game, but I know I had it lurking in the back of my mind haha. One of my favorites on the 64
