Well, young Westersloe looks to be expanding his horizons for fun and entertainment. He might end up being the embodiment of who the Third of his name may have become if fate had given him the chance to learn magicks that he was planning on.
The Wolf Queen is definitely fighting a personal battle. We again see a lot of the nameless wolf who looked at what her prior peers were doing to the mels of their community and knew that her honour demanded that she do something about it. The same injured nameless wolf who stated that Westersloe should leave her to die and who later fatalistically accepted responsibility in expectation of the ultimate punishment. It is interesting to see that she is looking to the representation of the Wolf Queen who preceded her for assurance. I am rediscovering the great respect I had for her character as we see her again facing a crisis of personal responsibility and honour.
