I'm in the same position, I never even beat the 1st one until a few years ago, when I bought a genesis to try it out again.

I do miss a bit the SoR series. I think I shall listen some music from SoR 2, my favorite among the three.

SOR music was deeply influenced by the rave scene of its time, SOR3 was experimental in many ways, loved thoses attemp to create hardcore on this hardware.

True, it is by experimenting that we can make new musics too. It could be boring to have something coming over and over within a serie, especially on the Gen.
