Meet George, the Galapagos Tortoise. He's lonely, because he's the last of his kind...but he doesn't need others like him to cure his loneliness. There are other turtles, toads, and creatures be friends with! :)

I've finally finished my 4th hyper-realistic GOURD sculpted turtle. George is made of a single large maranka gourd (his entire shell and neck.) You can see the tan gourd in his WIP pictures previously uploaded. George is 7.5 inches tall and 13.5 inches long. He's 100% handmade, even with hand-painted acrylic eyes. He's sculpted with wire and various types of clay. I sculpted him to resemble the real George, who was the last Pinta Island Tortoise of his species until he passed in 2012. I still remember when I heard the news of his passing, it made me really sad. I hope mini George can help remember him for a few more years.
