practice. <=) No one taught me markers at all.
I kinda' handle them the way I watercolor... but it seriously takes trial and error. The only tips I can give:
-Keep the colors wet while you blend - the clear blender is generally useless. It's better to blend your colors into each other.
-Don't color over full inks, darken your lines afterwords
*I pencil the drawing, then line it with a thin micron. I then erase every last pencil mark, I then color the drawing. After it is colored, I finish inking (making thick lines thick, etc).
-don't color over pencil art - it will smudge and look like crap
-have a piece of practice paper next to you to test colors before you use them.
I don't know copic's color choices, so I can't make recommendations on certain colors. With prismas, I find that dark deep colors bleed like crazy and generally look bad.
If you go to AC, you'll get to see me use them a lot - and I may even be better by then. ;)

I used to color over a finished ink drawing but some colors (like yellows and oranges) don't agree well with the ink, although other colors work over it fine.
This way, there is virtually no bleeding and it comes out a lot cleaner looking! It is a bit more time consuming, but has been worth it to me.
I don't have many examples of this process online casue I never realy scan the in-betwen, but here is an example:

*I colored it at this point - don't have a scan of not inked color*
