Wooooooooooooo Story time with my 2015 Draftee for the
furrybasketball Jonathan Lawyer again!!!! Only this time, we're going to have another one :O Oh mah gerd!!!
This is a collab with another FBA contributor and I real good friend of mine since joining this awesome universe!!! His name is
TrivolMcKenley and his FBA draftee is named Micah Davenport.
This is the story about how this rivalry began between the two furs. I'm hoping this is one that could last for a long time!! Heck it could be the next Hopper vs Malone perhaps. :O Well... maybe stretching that out a bit.. hehe ANY WHOOT!! Here is the story that we wrote.
The founding founder of is none other than the fantastic
buckhopper and the current commissioner is none other the amazing :steviemaxwell:!! If you want to know more about the FBA Click here to visit the site!!
The warm breeze and ocean smell filled Jonny Lawyer’s nostrils as he smiled with glee. He couldn’t contain the excitement of what awaits him. It was 30 minutes after he boarded off the plane. Going across the country like that really had taken a toll on him, but it was well worth it. Because he made it to Southern California, the place where it’s not only known for the wonderful sites of beauty, but where he would make the next step to become an FBA player. His best friend, Craig Miller, ran right past him as he stared into the amazing ocean view. He took a deep breath and smiled happily as he shouted, “Oh man, it is SO good to be back!!!”
The meerkat shook his head as he laughed. “You know good and damn well that you’ve never been to Santa Ana”, He said. The porcupine looked back at Jon, shaking his head as he smiled. “Oh Jonny....” He said with a somewhat cocky tone. “I’m not talking about the city!! I’m talking about the big blue. Man I missed her...”
Jon chuckled at his friend. He knew exactly what he was referring to, the ocean. With the beautiful skylines, and the sun glowing brightly onto the waters as the feral sea creatures come out of the water from time to time. Who would’ve thought of being away from this view for 4 years would bring even more beauty to it. It might not be home, but it sure did felt like it to the both of them. “Yeah… I missed her too…” The meerkat admitted with a relaxed smile.
“Alright”, Craig said as he rushed back to Jon, pulling out his oPad. “The Spectrum facility isn’t all that far from here, so I think we should walk there.” The meerkat smiled at him as he raised an eyebrow. “By that, you mean jog?” He asked without any kind of seriousness in his tone. Craig smiled back. “The faster we get there right?” He replied. Both of the furs began to jog their way to the destination, not paying attention to anything else.

It didn’t take long for them to get lost with their somewhat childish personalities still intact. The meerkat looked around, trying to find out where they’re at and checked the map he had to see if it could help discover where they were. He groaned as he looked at Craig with a slightly annoyed face. “Look what ya did. You got us lost.” He said, annoyed. The porcupine playfully gave him a shocked face. “Wha? Little ol’ me getting us lost? Since when did I, you bestest, closest friend Craig, get us lost? YOU’RE the one with the map.” He said sarcastically, purposefully getting on his friend’s nerves. The meerkat face-pawed as he grunted, looking back at the map. “Whatever man, can you at least try to help out with this…?” Jon said in a soft but clearly ticked off voice.
Meanwhile, Micah listened to his headphones through his oPhone 6++. He noticed the meerkat and porcupine, looking like they were tourists. The border collie approached them while taking off his headphones, lowering them and conversed with the meerkat, tapping his shoulder.
"Yo homez, ya lost yer way," Micah said, giving a stern look. "You looking for someone or a location?"
Jon was a bit startled when he felt a small tap on his shoulder. He turned around and he saw the border collie, with his headphones along his neck. He smiled a little awkwardly. “Uh… yeah we’re heading over to the Spectrums facility.”, Jon said, scratching the back of his head. “I guess you live around here?”
"Ya could say that. In fact..." Micah said while giving a grin. "Yer about 30 minutes away from the facility. What brings ya here?"
Jon was ready to respond before Craig stepped in and interrupted him. “Sorry sir, but I don’t think that really concerns YOU.” The porcupine said with a small cocky grin. “But if you’re dying to know, this fur, right here, is getting ready to place his spot in this year’s Draft!! So if you excuse us, we’ll be headin’ there now.”
Micah tilted his head and gave a sour look towards him. "Who the hell are you? Ya think you're some bodyguard? Ya certainly got a lot of mouth for a docile creature."
The meerkat frowned a bit. “Woah hey man, no need to ge-” Craig interrupted again. The porcupine lifted his index finger, moving it side to side. “Now, now. No need for the name callin. The name’s Craig. Best bud of one who’s gonna take the FBA by STORM!” Jon couldn’t help but facepalm. Craig is known for getting him into this mess. He shrugged, not really knowing what to do as he awaited for the collie’s response.
He stared up at the meerkat who was only an inch shorter than him but from the looks of it, Micah had a lot more muscular build than from looks. "Yo homez, say your name."
Craig was going to say something else, but the meerkat waved his paw up to signal him. Something told the meerkat that the collie wasn’t very pleased with his friend. He looked at him with a clear, calm focus as he introduced himself. “The name’s Jonathan Lawyer… I grew up in Savannah, Georgia. I’m a swingfur, more fitted for the small forward position from Ferrengton University.”
"Heh, I see," Micah glanced at him. "Micah Davenport here. Swingfur, small-forward myself. Slightly shorter than ya. Grew up in Newark, New Joisey. Graduated from Connecticut Canid University. Participated 'n the FCAA; was 'n th' Elite Eight before losing our place. Pleasure t' meetcha."
The meerkat smiled a bit. He tried staying calm, but in the back of his mind, he was a tad worried. ‘Off all the places in the world, he’s from there?!’ He thought to himself. “Well that’s neat that you made it to the big dance, I made it my senior year. Got eliminated in the Sweet Sixteen. It was a good run though.” The meerkat took a deep breath, trying to keep it cool. “Who’d you got eliminated by?”
"Two Points. Those bastards," Micah muttered underneath his breath before he gazed at Jon. "They put us in a horrible spot."
The meerkat gulped a tad bit. "Okay… probably wasn’t the best question….” He said quietly. Craig couldn’t stand by anymore as he began to snicker for a bit.
"Hey Porky," Micah said, making fun of Craig. "Whatchu laughing about?"
Craig looked up to the collie, pointing at him. “You, of course.” He said, trying to contain his laughter. “Being all butt hurt about a loss, at least it was close.” Jon looked at his friend in disbelief. ‘Is he trying to piss this guy off?’ He thought.
Micah shook his head and glanced at Jon, finger poking at his chest. "You, me, basketball match. One on one. Good thing I ain't beatin' your friend here to a pulp. Follow me," He said while motioning to follow him as he walked on the concrete sidewalk.
Jon couldn’t believe what occurred, in only a few minutes his friend turned a small talk to a straight-up challenge. He looked at Craig angrily while the porcupine just shrugged it off. “Go beat his ass,” Craig said with a confident grin. He yelled out his next words so Micah could hear. “Let’s see if Newark REALLY toughened this poser up!!!” Craig went to follow the collie before Craig could even get a word in this. He face-pawed hard and groaned in total disbelief. “For fuck’s sake Craig,” Jon said under his breath. “I can’t believe this….”
__________________________________________________________________________
Micah he led them to his car to get his sports bag and basketball he kept in his trunk. The border collie closed the trunk door and holstered his gym bag over his shoulder. “Yo Jon-o, how do you like your games played? Hard and exhausting, or simple and pleasant? I sure ain’t gunna be playin’ the latter.” He led both of them to a basketball court nearby. “Not that far now.”
Jonny grunted as he followed the Collie, with Craig following behind. “Well since we’re both going for the draft, might as well give it are all…” Craig then shouted out with a cocky grin. “Like you can handle this meerkat on the court, he’ll own ya real good scrub!!”
Micah couldn’t help but get angered by the porcupine’s words. The collie winced at his words but shook off his words. “Yah, well, keep talkin’ like that Porky and you’ll be breathing your last breath.” The border collie led them to the basketball court with a few people staring at the three with some chatter going on behind them.
“Whoa, shit,” A cheetah speak and grew surprised. “Good luck, man. You’re gonna need it. Badly.”
A wolf whispered to the cheetah next to him, nodding. “Yah, man. He ain’t gonna be so nice to him. I heard that Davenport has a mean playstyle when it comes to playin’ on da court.”
A few more chatters went on as they walked across the park, with the border collie walking across the park onto the concrete floor.
The meerkat looked back at the porcupine with an angered look. Craig just smiled as he winked at him like he’s on to something. Jon rolled his eyes at him as he focused back to Micah. The chattering from the other furs wasn’t helping the situation. He really hated times like this. He sighed as he spoke. “Game of 21. Since you challenged me, I get ball first.” The meerkat took a deep breath. This is the type of game he didn’t like playing: a pride game: where the loser gets shamed. Nothing could be any worse than this, at least that’s what he thought.
Micah nodded, tossing the ball towards him and Micah got himself in a defense position and his eyes glared into Jon’s eyes. People started gathering around, seeing that there was a ball game going on between them. “Fair ‘nuff. Just keep Porky thar out of the court. He’s ruining my concentration. Just a match of skills. Between you and me. And we may go a few games with a 10 minute break, in between. Sound good wit’ ya?”
Jon nodded and looked at Craig with a look telling him to head off. The porcupine nodded and smiled cockily with a gentle wink. “Go kick some ass dude.” He said as he walked away. He just couldn’t help but groan as he caught the ball that was tossed to him. He closed his eyes for a bit, imagining that his father was in front of him. He always felt like his father was there when he played, it made him feel a lot more comfortable on the court. The image of his dad nodded, and the meerkat begin to odd as well. He opened his eyes with a fierce look at the Collie. He then slowly starts to dribble the ball. “It’s game time!” He said as he began to move forward.
Micah smirked as he saw what Jon was trying to do and side-stepped as the meerkat decided to carry out his drive. The collie backed away and just as when Jon could take the shot, the collie blocked the ball away from the paws and managed to retrieve the ball, keeping the ball in his possession and dribbling it. He focused on his opponent and adjusted his headband to keep away from his eyes. Micah then dribbled between his paws as he pushed himself towards the basket. He took his jump shot and did a fade-away shot, hoping that it made it in.
The meerkat looked back as the shot made it in with nothing but net. He grinded his teeth a bit, having a little frustration in him. He went to pick up the ball as he tried to keep it cool. Keep it together Jon... It’s only the first shot… He passed it back to Micah as he goes into a defensive stance. He knows that he has to stay focus on what his opponent will do.
The border collie dribbled the ball again, keeping his paws on the ball as he made slight movements to see what Jon would do. Micah grinned towards him and made his break, hoping that Jon would be able to keep up with his momentum.
Jon kept his focus on the collie as he began to make a break. He made sure to try and push him outside as best he could. Knowing that he’s not the best at defending a drive. He wants to make sure to put him in an awkward shooting position. The meerkat smiled as he sees an opening, his paws reaching out for the ball to commit a steal.
“Heh, not bad,” Micah admitted and gave a smirk. “I’d let that go by ya.” He smiled as he got himself into a defense position now while Jon had possession of the ball. “This be interesting now.” The border collie said as he adjusted his basketball trunks and positioned himself.
Jon chuckled as he dribbled the ball harder. “Alright man, let’s see what you can really do.” He said with a little cockiness in his tone. The crowd surrounding the court started growing as the two furs played on the court. They heard the crowd rooting for the fur of their choice, some actually making bets to see who would win. Jon breathed heavily as he got back on the defensive, with him leading 20-19. He knew this has to stop right here.
Micah felt the adrenaline flowing through his body. The border collie adjusted his headband, keeping himself cool and glanced bitterly at Jon. Growing up in the streets of Newark didn’t slow him down one bit. He knew what it took to survive out there so he wasn’t going to give up here. He broke hard left with the meerkat following closely behind. Micah grew surprised of his speed to keep up with him.
With that, the border collie decided to tackle him inside the paint, his sweet spot to score points. He dribbled the ball in between his legs, shifting between them as he left Jon discombobulated with his judgement. With an absolute certainty, he basically jumped over Jon and in turn, the meerkat had hops of his own. He wasn’t going to let some newcomer from another state get the best of him. He slammed the ball down with his right, hanging onto the rim before the ball hit the ground, ending the first game.
“Well, I hafta hand ‘t to ya. Ya did well, on your first game against me. Ten minute break work with ya?”
The meerkat, with his eyes widened with the effect on that dunk still on him, nodded a bit. “Yeah.. sure.. Thanks for the compliments.” He said as he wiped his forehead. The face paint he had on was smeared and a tad bit faded from the sweat he produced. “10 minutes…” He walked off to the court and sat down for a bit, reaching for his bag to take his bottle of water out. ‘That guy is good… really good…’ He thought as he took a couple of gulps.
He took his bottle of water out from his gym bag and chugged down his water, quenching his thirst. Micah definitely had some challenge going on. He saw the meerkat’s plays and they weren’t bad either. He assessed his playing style and analyzed all the plays and drives that were made. Needless to say though, he underestimated Jonny. He heard the chatter going behind him, even some congratulating him.
“Hey Davenport, you did great out there,” a bull said and gave a thumbs up. Micah did so in return and smiled. “Of course, I think dis is far from over though.”
Meanwhile, the porcupine walks up to greg, still talk cocky and loud. “Oh snap! That’s how it we do it in the dirty south. He just gettin started!” He said as he sat next to Jon. He then spoke softly. “Alright man, a bit of a sloppy start, but I think he knows that you’re no joke. I know it’s hard for ya, but you’re gonna have to be more aggressive. His style definitely has some New Jersey in it. You’re just gonna have to try your best to keep that fox kisser on his toes.” Jon’s eyebrow raised with that last comment. “Fox kisser?”
“Yeah dude, I’ve seen his face.” Craig said with a smile. “He’s the lucky fur that snatched a smooch from Vic Vos.” It took the meerkat to realize, but when he finally did he laughed a little. “Well shit, who would’ve thought.” He said with a grin. He got up and head straight back to the court as he said with a smile. “Welp… Time to win this next one.”
Micah nodded, taking his time to get on the court while feeling the sun beam down on his fur. He smiled and spun the ball in his right hand. “ S’pose ya want the ball this second match?” The border collie said while he spun the ball on each of his fingers.
The meerkat smiled brightly. “Nah you got ball.” He remained on the defensive as he focused on the collie. “Give me your best shot.”
“Heh, you’re gonna b’ sorry,” Micah said as he took the offer and dribbled the ball, watching Jon and his reflexes. “Not bad for a meerkat though.” He whispered as he carried his drive onto the paint. It’s only there he can perform his breaks and fadeaway shots. His paws moved quickly, picking up momentum. He snarled as he broke right, distancing himself away from Jon. He pulled a fadeaway shot but he cursed as the ball just bounced off the rim.
The meerkat took advantage of the missed shot, quickly snatching it from the air as it bounced off. He quickly dashed towards the goal for an easy lay-up, showing off his speed and agility. He looked back at the collie with a soft smirk. “Sorry about what now?” He said with a little smirk. He grabbed the ball and went back to the middle of the court. He started dribbling the ball again, glaring into Micah’s eyes as he readied himself to start another break.
Micah panted and started breaking in the same direction. He felt his legs got the intensive workout, stealing the ball away from Jon’s paws. The border collie quickly regained his footing while keeping the ball in place. “Heh, ya can’t always make the same shots ya know.” He grinned and pulled off his drive towards the basket. Jon came up running from the corner of his eye, stopping midway in his drive to make the meerkat stumble. He pulled off a shot at the top of the arch, landing himself a three-pointer. He wiped the sweat with his jersey and grinned. “Ya know, you meerkats are quite fast critters. Gonna hafta t’ do better though.”
The meerkat squinted at the collie as he goes into a defensive stance. With the scenery of the court and how tense it was becoming. It showed more and more of a rivalry between the two. He passed the ball along to the collie and got back into position. “Alright then…” As the collie moved along the 3-point line, the meerkat put his arms wide as he saw him trying to break into the paint. Jon quickly stayed on top of him, being more aggressive than usual. As the collie tried fighting his way to get a lay-up, the meerkat kept his balance as he went up to block Micah’s shot. The reaction from the crowd definitely showed that it was an explosive play.
Micah grunted as Jon made his lay-up shot and tossed the ball to Jon. The border collie snarled as he panted, gazing at him. The score was already 19-17, in the meerkat’s favor. “Shit, never played anyone who was at my level. He’s definitely got skills.” He said while getting himself into position again, keeping his eyes on Jon.
Jon smiled as he dribbled the ball, feeling a lot more confident than he was during the first game. He then began to make it look like he was ready to drive hard. However, he quickly skipped back, making a three point shot as he did. Jon grinned as the ball made it in, hitting nothing but net, thus winning the game. With a smile, he made a heart shape with his paws across his chest, then separating them as he said, “Heart… Broken…” The meerkat then walked off the court with a smile. With both of them winning a game, he knows this last game is going to be hard and brutal. However, he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Micah kept his mind calm about the series being tied one apiece. He sighed, pulling off his tank top, revealing his build and took out a towel to wipe away the sweat from his body. His build was something to marvel over, especially taking kickboxing classes and keeping himself fit every day. He took out the water bottle and drank it to feel hydrated. His body got looks from everyone around, even some girls that caught a glimpse of the collie’s build. However, he paid them no mind. “This shit ain’t over until the final game is o’er.” He said, spitting onto the court and kept his cool until the 10 minute break was up.
Craig walked over to Jon with a smile, “He might be a little salty after that one.” He said, chuckling a bit as he saw the collie trying to keep his cool. The meerkat grinned as he calmly took off his T, wiping himself off a bit as he tossed it to Craig. He cracked his knuckles and moved his legs a bit as he looked back at the court. “Good… I want him to throw everything he’s got, and nothing less.” He said as he drank to keep cool and continue playing. “Cause this is the most fun I’ve had in a 1-v-1 pride game since our sophomore year.” He then stepped back on to the court and stared down at the collie with a serious grin and says, “My ball…”
Micah nodded, tossing the ball towards the meerkat and got himself into a defensive stance as many spectators watched the game with anticipation. The border collie ignored them and focused only on his opponent. His arms were spread across him, putting the pressure on the meerkat to prevent him from going into the paint. His footwork was impressive, always agile and kept himself on the edge. There was a drastic change in his plays now, playing a solid defense against a potentially faster small forward.
The meerkat tried his best to get around him, but he couldn’t shake Micah to get a good look for a lane. So he tried a different approach: making a fade away jumper. However, the collie’s D proved to be too much as he lost his footing, the ball hitting the back of the rim. Jon quickly got on top of Micah as soon as his paws had possession of the ball. He was going to make sure that the collie wasn’t going to make a break on him, trying his best to keep him away from the paint.
Micah snickered as he got the ball. “Heh, you haven’t seen what I can do, Jon-o. I’m just getting started!” After saying that, he passed the ball in between the meerkat’s legs and quickly scrambled for the ball, keeping himself faster than Jon. He grinned as he kept himself on the edge, allowing him to pull off a lay-up on top of him, scoring two points.
"Looks like yer gonna have to do better than that," Micah smirked as he tossed the ball in his direction and gave a wink. "You're pretty cute. I have to admit."
A small flash of red colored the meerkat’s cheek as he caught the ball and his eyes widened. Jon shook his head quickly trying not to make it noticeable as he goes back a serious look. “If you think flattery is gonna help ya, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.” He shouted.
He passed the ball right back and got into the defensive. When Micah began to break left, the meerkat saw a glimpse on what he was going to do. As soon as the collie jump for another fade-away, He was able to be there to tip the ball of it’s course, hitting the rim.The meerkat was able to the rebound. Jon smirked at Micah as he was getting ready to drive. As soon as the collie knew what he was doing he quickly did a spin move to avoid the steal, making Micah fall off balance as the meerkat decided to do his own dunk. With that the score was 10-8 in Jon’s favor. “Sorry collie boy,” He said with a small wink. “But this ‘cute’ meerkat needs a little payback from that first game.”
“Heh, no harm, Jon-o,” Micah said as he shrugged the feeling off. “Got a boyfriend anyway. I ain’t gonna be fallin’ for ya.” He grinned as he saw the dunk. “Not bad for a meerkat.” The border collie grinned and allowed Jon to have the ball. He then quickly pressed against him, keeping up with his defense. Micah had been docile in the first game, but he wasn’t going to let this game get the best of him. The border collie spread out his arms and pressed closer to Jon’s body, with their bodies almost touching each other.
As Micah pressed, the meerkat tried using his speed to get around him. However, he wasn’t able to control his footing and stumbled, thus losing the ball in the process as screamed. “Shit!!”
The border collie quickly retrieved the ball, dribbling the ball in place. Then, with his eyes burning intensely, the ball dribbled between his left and right paws. After doing so, he made a quick break to the left before he saw the opportune moment for him to conduct his shot. He saw Jon from his view again, coming up from his right. Micah switched the ball and did a simple lay-up with his left, earning himself points.
“It’s 12-10, my lead,” Micah smiled as he winked towards Jon’s direction. “Halfway through our third and final game.” He heaved as his chest was matted with sweat, dribbling the ball.
Jon grunted as he stared back at Micah, anticipating his next move. “You could count those as lucky points. I rarely stumble.” He said with a small grin. He knew that he can’t afford to make errors like that. He continued to move along with the collie; however, he decided to change his defensive approach. As the collie took a quick right, the meerkat tried his best to get his body in front of him so he was forced to veer into the other direction. This gave Jon a clear opening as he stole the ball swiftly. He dashed towards the corner as he quickly spun around and attempted a three. It bounced a couple of times, but it made it in. The meerkat smiled as he wiped his forehead. “13-12 collie boy”, He said. “Let’s kick it up a notch.”
“Heh, let’s do it then,” Micah said as he retrieved the ball and changed his dribbling to his left. The border collie focused his energy in his left while keeping his eyes on the meerkat. He saw a couple openings on how he could approach the basket. His left paw kept the ball steady, keeping his mind calm. He broke right this time, which Jon followed quickly, with his feet barely catching up with him. While Jon tried swiping the ball away, Micah dribbled the ball in between his legs, switching to his right paw. He spun around and shook off the meerkat to give him a few feet of room. He followed through with his shot from inside the arch, gaining two points.
“I have t’ say, this game is the best game I’ve had yet,” Micah said while spinning the ball on his right finger before tossing it towards Jon.
Jon chuckled a bit as he tossed the ball from paw to paw, “Well, I have to admit the same thing. Don’t do these type of games often.” He said with a gentle smile.
He passed it back along to Micah as he gets ready for him. With the two fighting for each point like gladiators. Trying to one-up each other with every move they know. A lot of furs on the sideline screamed at the top of their lungs. Some even recorded the game on their oPhones. The two were more evenly matched than they thought. The game was coming to a close, with the game tied 20 apiece. The meerkat was breathing a little heavier than normal as he gets back to a defensive stance. He knows if he doesn’t get a stop here it’s game over, and he couldn’t allow Micah to put him on blast, proving his admittedly obnoxious friend wrong. His eyes showed eagerness and focus, his emotions and total passion showing with intensity as he screamed. “Bring it!!”
Micah let out a huge sigh, keeping his composure and thinking that this was the last basket and he saw that the fans were cheering both of them on. The border collie dribbled the ball steadily and keeping himself under control. With a plan in his mind, he executed it. He swerved left with ball in hand before zipping over to the right. He kept his paws moving and watched Jon from the corner of his eye, moving in front of him. Micah then pulled off a fadeaway shot, but something came to his mind like a sharp needle. He launched the ball too soon and was off the backboard with Jon now taking the ball in his possession.
‘Damn it, this could be over.’ he said while keeping his defensive position on the meerkat.
Jon dribbled along from each of his paws, he knew he probably won’t get another chance like this so he had to play it smart. He moved along the three point line, trying to find an opening through Micah’s defense. He only had one thing in mind: challenge him and finish this with a strong drive. He charged forward, knowing that his arms were a bit longer than the collie’s. The two furs jumped almost in sync. The meerkat found a way to get the ball around the collie’s paw as he threw it up. The ball rolled around the rim for a bit, with tension rising heavily. Then, it finally rolled in,making the basket thus ending the game. The meerkat smiled widely as he beaten what he would consider the toughest opponent he’d ever faced.
Micah panted a bit, keeping himself composed and stared at the basket for a bit. He heard the furs cheering on from the background, supporting both of them. The border collie panted as he saw Jon smiled and scoffed happily. He took off his headband, walking up towards him and extended his paw. “Yo Jon, good game. Best game I had since I moved out here.”
The meerkat nodded in agreement as he gladly shook Micah’s paw with a smile. “Same here, been definitely one of the most fun games I’ve ever been in.”
Craig stepped in between the two screaming loud and proud. “Woah! Ladies and Gentlefurs! We have a WINNER!” The porcupine smiled cockily as he looked up at Micah. “Sorry to say, but you got WRECKED. Good thing I recorded for all the FBA GMS, fan, players, and of course ALL FELLOW DRAFTEES checking out these skills.”
A voice echoed behind Micah. “Micah Davenport, I assume you were playing it out here.”
The border collie turned and saw a blue wolf wearing a black trench-coat and black dress pants. Micah waved his paw. “Yo boss,” He said while the blue wolf made his way through the crowd. Behind him was a white tiger with a large build wearing a suit and followed behind him.
Jon and Craig both blinked and looked at each other, confused. They looked back at the two polished looking furs. “Uh…” Jon attempted to say anything, but he really doesn’t know what to say. He wondered how in the world did a guy like Micah meet someone as high class looking as these two.
“Here you go, sir,” Chase said while offering a new set of clothes and a new towel.
“Ah, thank you Chase,” Micah said politely and Trivol went up to the meerkat and porcupine.
“Hmm, you two are certainly something,” Trivol said, adjusting his fedora and underneath the fedora was his monocle over his right eye. “Care to introduce yourselves? I’m Trivol McKenley and my butler over there, helping Micah, is Chase Ferris. We’re Micah’s agents for the FBA.”
The two furs took a couple of minutes to register what was going on. Craig cleared his throat. “Afternoon, name’s Craig Miller.” He said trying not to make things awkward. He looked at the meerkat and bumped his arm. That got the meerkat’s attention as he shook his head as he began to spoke. “Uh… The name’s Jon Lawyer.” He said as he scratched his head.
“I see,” Trivol smiled as he spoke to both of them. “Lawyer, you showed some promise out there. Plannin’ to be in the FBA?”
The meerkat nodded. Then with sudden realization, he slapped his paw against his face. “Ah shit!!” The meerkat said.
“It’s okay!” Trivol smiled and saw Micah coming to the side of him and nodded. The blue wolf saw the porcupine. “So, Jon, is this guy your agent?”
Craig shook his head, “Nah man, business makes my quills shiver.” He said with a small shrug. “Believe it or not, I help him in his training.”
The meerkat sighed as he began to spoke again. “The whole agent… thing kind of slipped my mind.” He chuckled a little embarrassed as he scratched the back of his head.
“Ever considered looking for one?” Trivol asked while Chase followed behind Micah and had Micah’s old clothes in a bag.
“Well it is pretty important… since I’m totally brain dead when it comes to business…” Jon said admittedly.
Trivol pulled out a small card case, pulling out a business card. He handed the business card to him and smiled. “If you want to talk about negotiations with me becoming your agent, feel free to talk to me. From today’s game, you show a lot of promise, chap. Micah’s pretty hard to beat.” The blue wolf grinned and ruffled the meerkat’s hair.
Jon looked at the card with a bright smile as he looked back up to the blue wolf. “Wow you mean it?! Thanks man!! Uh I mean, thank you sir. I’ll definitely call you as soon as I can.” He shook the wolf's paw, trying to contain his excitement.
Micah smiled and waved his paw. “See ya homez. Hope to see ya at the Draft.” He said while he walked with Chase. Trivol bowed towards them. “I bid you gentlefurs adieu. We have a lot of stuff to do before the Draft.” Then, he quickly caught up with them and all three of them disappeared from sight.
Jon and Craig at each other, smiles crossed both of their faces. The two of them jumped with joy, hugging each other. “Holy shit man!! Looks like you got yourself an agent.” Craig said with a smile. Jon looked back at the card smiling, then looked around just remembering what he was doing before all this happened. He looked back at Craig and said. “Uh… where’s the facility again?” Jon asked.
Craig just stared at the meerkat and sighed. “... God damn it, Jon.”
furrybasketball Jonathan Lawyer again!!!! Only this time, we're going to have another one :O Oh mah gerd!!!This is a collab with another FBA contributor and I real good friend of mine since joining this awesome universe!!! His name is
TrivolMcKenley and his FBA draftee is named Micah Davenport.
If you want to know more about the FBA Click here to visit the site!!The warm breeze and ocean smell filled Jonny Lawyer’s nostrils as he smiled with glee.
_____________________________________________________________________
