Chapter 22
“That was a piece of cake,” said Brylie while smugness oozed off the Bunnelby. “One hit knock outs all around and there were only four Pokémon to face from three trainers.”
“True,” muttered David while rolling his eyes. He focused his attention on the large orange tent ahead. “But you’ve done your part. It’s time to face off against the gym leader, who should be just ahead?”
“Yup,” said Alexa while still scribbling furiously in her notepad. “Assuming she’s not doing anything else at the moment.”
David and his Pokémon entered the tent to find it completely empty. At least if was empty of human presence. It looked a little like a professional photographer’s booth with a large screen up against one of the side walls and large lights set up all over the place.
Whoever the gym leader was, they were very neat about their work. Cords were neatly taped together and tucked into the corners of the tent. Although it had first appeared cluttered, everything was skilfully organized and one was able to walk through the tent without needing to worry about tripping or knocking over anything.
“Sorry I’m late!” exclaimed a young female voice as a young lady with platinum blond hair and large green eyes hurried though the flap of the tent behind Alexa. She had a camera strap looped around her neck with the actual camera held in her hands. “I got wrapped up photographing the Ledyba flitting though the roses on Route 4. There’s a family of them with a young one just learning how to fly and they were so cute together that I just had to stop and get a few snapshots.”
The young lady paused when she caught sight of David. Her eyes widened and the camera was in front of her face the same instant the flash went off to indicate that she’d taken a picture. The boy blinked in the afterimage of the camera flash.
“Oy!” exclaimed Flint as he crash into the side of the tent and landed on one of the side tables. “I’d appreciate being able to see!”
“Is this him?!” asked the lady as she addressed Alexa. “You told me David was unique, you didn’t tell me he was this cute!”
“He’s too young for you,” replied Alexa with her eyes narrowed.
“On contraire,” said the young lady with a big grin as she flipped a lock of her hair back behind her ear. “I think he’s perfectly and gorgeously photogenic! How old are you, David?”
“I’m seventeen,” answered the boy in hesitation. Casper landed on his shoulder as he seemed unable to process what was going on and remain flying at the same time.
“He’s only four years younger than me,” exclaimed the young lady.
“Yeah,” snorted Alexa as she rolled her eyes. “That makes you a Liepard for even considering it.”
“Oh really?” retorted the lady in only the kind of sass sisters can throw at each other. “If I’m a Liepard, then that makes you a- OH MY ARCEUS HE HAS A BUG TYPE!”
The camera was back up in front of her face and clicking as madly as it was flashing. David blinked rapidly and was momentarily blind as the afterimages of the flashes faded. Casper appeared stunned into absolute silence. None of his other Pokémon appeared to know how to react to Alexa’s sister either.
Alexa sighed and stowed her pencil behind an ear. “Viola, behave.”
“You’re not my mother,” replied Viola. “Besides, you’re too old for him.”
“My interest in him is strictly professional,” said Alexa with a flip of her notepad for emphasis. “As should yours be. He’s taken on the Wonderlocke Challenge. How many trainers have you battled who have done that and succeeded? It’s something new that has recently been implemented here in Kalos. Not everyone can acquire the respect and friendship from freshly traded Pokémon like the way he has with his.”
“Fair point,” groused Viola before rolling her eyes and leveling them on David. “Cute or not, I will definitely go all out against you.”
“Wait, what?” asked Fredric loudly as he accidentally spat out his twig with a choking sound.
“What’s wrong?” asked Spike while shooting swift glances between Viola, David and Fredric.
“Allow me to introduce myself properly,” replied Viola to their stares. “I’m Viola, Photographer Extraordinaire and the Gym Leader of the Santalune City Pokémon Gym.”
“What?” yelped David before he turned on Alexa. “Why didn’t you tell me the gym leader was your sister?”
“Would it have made a difference?” asked the young woman while jotting down more notes in her notepad. “I wanted to see how you react under surprise.”
“And surprise you I evidently did,” said Viola. “What were you expecting, some old man? Let Ramos and Wulfric hold those titles. Gym Leaders aren’t all old people you know. Lumiose City’s gym leader is a couple years younger than you.”
“I didn’t say that,” muttered David as he looked away.
“Lighten up,” exclaimed Viola with a grin. “I’m only teasing. Come on. I prefer to battle behind my tent where there’s more room and I don’t run the risk of breaking any of my equipment.”
She opened the back flap of the tent and led the boy and his Pokémon out onto a large wooden platform. She positioned herself between him and the stairs at the far end. With a grin and her camera in one hand, she pulled out a Poké Ball.
“Get ready for a battle quicker than a shutter set to 1/1000 can snap shut!” said Viola with determination in her gaze. “It’ll be over in a flash. My lens is always focused on victory. Win or lose, nothing will ruin this shot.”

Talon's Rules
1. All Pokemon (with maybe the exception of your starter if you so wish) must have been obtained within a Wonder Trade upon starting the game.
2. You have six slots in your party. You must have three pokemon you can interchange per slot. Pokemon from the same group slot can never be in your party at the same time. Only one per group slot at a time. You will have a grand total of eighteen pokemon as part of your team.
3. If a Pokemon should faint, it is considered "DEAD" and must be either released or placed in the PC. Once all three pokemon from a group slot have fainted, you can only use five pokemon at a time.
4. No buying items (with the exception of the Poke Balls used to aid you in your Wonder Trade). All items are found in the region (or if you are super lucky, you may be able to rely on a pokemon whose ability is Pick Up as I have). Buying TMs in the Shop is the exception.
I do not own any characters that may coincide with characters from the games.

Personal Notes
This was one of those instances where the character just bursts onto the screen and decides she wants to act a certain way. No arguing with them when that happens XD ... so yeah. Viola finds David cute ^^
Also, you can't have Viola without her using Camera puns at some point ... may have taken a few from the actual game in her last statement there.
