I've recently found a great way to practice sketching - small, flipbook style animations of whatever you want to practice. Not only are you sketching it repeatedly, it helps to show how the features of the face change during speech or expressions. That aside, I really do love how you do your faces. All three are fairly awesome, but I think the center one is my favorite. It definitely conveys powerful emotion, and the the leftmost face is nicely defined.

And, apple, dammit. <3

They're all TOTALLY apples.

The flipbook animation idea's actually pretty cool; I might try that! And also thankyou. <3 It frustrates me 'cause I was really proud of this, like, a week ago, and now I keep finding things wrong with it. D<

I'll have to bring the book down with me when I come, but its an excellent exercise. Its not kidding when it says to think of the things you're drawing in masses and volumes instead of as lines. And, other than the sketchy-anatomy (which you're working on), nothing really sticks out to me as being bad. Also, burd<3

No art books are kidding when they say to think about it as volume. x3 It's very helpful.

Grah. Lots sticks out to me as being bad, so I just concentrate on the yelling-face. The proportions are all off there, but at least it gives the idea.

Open-mouthed faces always screw me over too but as you said, practice makes better D<

It also helps having Ceylon. As she's got all her storylines (aka wrinkles) it makes drawing her face easy. Then I know what goes where. I just need to work more on drawing them better.

Younger faces are annoying, 'cause I never know which lines and such I SHOULD draw and which I should leave out. *dies* You draw people-faces awesomely, and I would leech your skill out your ears if you didn't live all the way across the ocean and also if I were meaner. D=

And I shall try to doodle up handy helpfyl hints to drawing faces maybe. I suck at doing handy helpful things. Unless I want to go on a rant. Then I just scrawl crap up.

That would rock, actually. I totally cling to every face tutorial I can find, but your faces have so much character to them! And expressivenessness. And awesome. ;-;

But I know a Sid just sort of draws things as they come to her, so if you don't feel like it don't worry about it. <3

M'dear I wish I had half the drawing talent as you! Perhaps my 3D art will someday be worth posting online, but I fear I'll never be any good at actually, you know, DRAWING!
