Once again, this drawing really is darker than some of my previous works. And this time, it's not just for a fanfic or a scenario I came up with. This time, the drawing is meant to express how I feel towards a rather heated topic in the TLK fandom: The large amounts of hate that Kiara seems to get every day. I've already spoken my mind about this issue numerous times before, so I won't harp on it for too long this time. I'm personally disgusted with the amount of hate Kiara gets, and the fact that each and every one of the insults written here are real things people have said about her. To me, it's absolutely terrible.

I'm not going to act like Kiara was a totally perfect saint who did no wrong, because I do know that she isn't perfect; She did have her flaws, and I'm willing to admit that. But there is nowhere near enough wrong with her to get the amount of backlash that she has. Right from the get-go, I was always confused about it. Kiara was an incredibly sweet, kind and caring person who had a lot of energy, compassion, mercy, and was very much a child-at-heart, but in a good way. She also had a lot of wisdom to her. It may not have shown too much at first, but by the time she reunited the Pride Landers and the Outsiders, she'd proven once and for all that she's no idiot. To be able to look past appearances and past prejudices to see who someone is on the inside, and to bring peace between two prides that were just about to kill each other? That almost sounds like something out of the Bible for crying out loud! What's not to like about her? What did this poor girl do to have almost the entire fanbase against her? I just don't understand it.

Even before I had any idea what the fans thought of her, I always liked Kiara for who she was, and I personally see no reason why so many would hate her the way they do. I've wondered for some time now what Kiara herself would think if she actually found out about it, and this drawing sort of represents that thought. Hopefully after this, I can get back to doing less somber drawings than this. Only time (and my mood) can tell, I suppose.
