Oh, now this is gorgeous! The detail is simply amazing, especially in the character's armor and in the stone columns above and behind her. The pool is quite nicely done, as well, and the whole scene is just beautifully done. The sepia tone and the way she's leaning on the crutch give the piece a rather melancholy feel, I think, but it's really well done and it certainly makes for a fascinating scene. I've always admired your more emotional, story driven pieces as I think that's where your art really shines, and you've done a great job with this!

Is there back story to describe why she's on a crutch?

Beautiful artwork!

She was once a soldier, involved in beseiging a castle. During the seige, she was hit by debris flung by a catapult, which shattered the bones in her right lower leg. She was captured by the beseiged side after the attackers were driven away. They took care of her and managed to save her leg, though it never quite healed properly, she can't walk on it without a lot of discomfort, hence the crutch.

*sigh* The lifelong pain of war.

Regardless of her injuries, she's very lovely!
