In today's episode, the Wolf Queen finds out why it is she, and not the Master of Elfhame, that has been summoned to GHQ to receive orders from the Marshal of Faerie and from the Crown Prince. Orders involving a mysterious realm that gives pause even to a noted fancier of the bizarre such as Estvan Silverbrush...

I see. So even *Estivan* thinks that the realm of Eastness is Odd.
This is like the World-Lasagne of serial chapters: In the hot-from-the oven pan of the Imperial City, layers of fresh & hot extrapolation filling alternated with fresh layers of spicy savory character revelations. With the The Master Esquire and the Wolf-Queen crumbled and sprinkled on top.
My complements to the chef.
The questions to the small oracle, and the finding of both of the sketch-albums: The 'punishment' fits the 'crime'. That is a very three-dimensional shadow-play.

Yup, when the Mad One refers to a place as Weird then it is time to get as much intel as possible as life is about to get interesting....
'Twill be an interesting time for our odd couple on so many fronts... I wonder how much pride and professionalism Westersloe is willing to sacrifice to play with this situation...
Definitely looks like the diamond sale has been rumbled... but this could be a double edged bag... it could be a decoy used to mask the other sales as part of a royal task to convert gems to coin for the diplomatic mission... or a trap where the coin from the diamond sales could be implied as embezzlement if others think the gems belonged to the House of the Lacktail.
