We weren't chasing at all... we were actually in the middle of dinner, when mom jumps up and yells tornado.. lol

I'm from Ohio as well and I don't remember hearing anything about a tornado happening. I'm more in the Canton area, so I'm not sure where you are located, but we didn't get any storms, just rain and wind. That's insane though. Storms make me very anxious, to the point I may have a panic attack, so that would probably send me over the edge. Lol

It wasn't even from a storm. Just a rain shower. That's why it was so weird.


Get this though, we actually did report it to several places, including police, fire station, and the local weather office. NONE of them knew wtf to do about it, and none of them would sound the sirens. We had children playing out in the street that were completely oblivious that this was heading straight for us.

Just lucky that it didn't last long enough to actually hit the neighborhood.

See if it was in the middle of a storm and it suddenly went quiet it would make more sense but... daaaaamn. No storm at all? Yeah okay that doesn't make me like 10 times more terrified of tornadoes than I already am nope not a bit. o.o;;;;;;;;;;;;

Had one around here many years ago that my neighbors filmed and sent the video to the local news station where it was featured. That one was a lot bigger though so they couldn't try to deny it was most definitely a tornado...

The ones out here in Appalachia, though rare, are far worse because they jump and there's no warning system, so the death tolls are higher.

Always fun when they get trapped between the hills and just kinda sit there and churn into giant murder clouds. x.x Thankfully don't live there now but went to school in that region for a while and heard stories. *shudder* Reasons I reeeeeeeeeeeeally want a place with a basement...

Probably about five miles or less. Couldn't exactly judge because of a line of trees across the field blocking vision from where the actual base was.

Tornados? NO. Cannot deal with 'em. Terrify me. Lived in Missiouri for almost a year and was a nervous wreck whenever my mind didn't have something to keep it distracted and busy. *Shudders* Probably gonna have nightmares just thinking of it.

No, you do have a right to worry. I worry too. Still do, especially since our house was not quite built up to housing standard. -_- ... these stupid shoddy builders.

But yes, our floor is repaired, although we have no idea for how long, or if anything will happen again. Our garage floor is not repaired at all, since it isn't covered and we apparently have to do it ourselves.

Tornados are like concentrated little hurricanes that wreck shit in their path, but can do all sorts of crazy stuff in terms of movement. They're very unpredictable.. which is why they scare a lot of people, a lot more than other forms of weather and geological things.

Dude I live in a trailer. o.o The fact that this happened with no storm is kinda terrifying me right now because we just found out we're probably not gonna be able to move until at least next spring (we were planning on finding a place with a basement this summer and getting the hell out). x.x Uggggggh it's fine when there's warning but if there is none... crap we need time to run to my parents' place for shelter when this stuff hits...

Tornadoes have been really bad as of late. Last night I think there was atleast a dozen that has touched down here and there, one warning where I worked at. They are not a fun thing to deal with for sure.

Very cool. We get a few neat storms here in Ohio, but it's the one thing I do miss about NW. TN. Tornadoes and lots of really cool lightning shows were very common.

Do you have a safety shelter in the yard?

No. We have a half basement though. We would have gone to the basement bathroom has it posed an immediate threat to our location. This was far enough away that there was a line of trees between it, and us. About five miles or so, of distance.
