Wood bodies have warmer low end friendly tones.
Metal bodies have SHARP tone and crisp reverb.
Tricone (means three resonating cones) are good for high end sound, bad for bassiness(more for jazz than blues)
Biscuit (single larger cone) is good for low end sound.

Obvious combos
Wood body + tricone = mid range sound, almost banjo-esque, but more crisp and louder.
Metal body + biscuit = diminished low end but vibrant mid range and long lasting high end sustain.

I had the luxury of playing a wood body biscuit BASS resonator guitar. I wished it had a bigger body but it was still amazing. Surreal crisp sound.
