Dragon Commander - The emperor will prevail
I made this drawing a lot of time ago when i was playing Dragon Commander, a game that is pretty good although unpolished. It really had potential but it was a hair short of it.
Drawing a saber dragon is pretty complicated because there are little references about the dragon at all and to top it off all of them are different. In the end I decided to just combine all of them and make an adaption to my style with an unique pose and a more flexible look.
I think this drawing is pretty epic haha. It is kinda of exciting to imagine being a dragon emperor. With a little more of imagination the simple storyline of the game can be great.

Yeah the potential was there but in the end I think it certain aspects the game has failed, like combat for me was particularly boring and there is now unit diversity. All units looked the same, which is disappointing
I mean undead, imp, dwarven, elven, human and other races would have different architecture and styles associated with their own units. Though certain issues that you have to deal with on the political side of the
game was surprising and refreshing, alot of them mirroring current issues of today like the gay marriage is one such example.
Of course it could be so much more, it was just a pretty ambitious title to begin with for such a small development team. But I am still amazed what they manage to pull off though, hopefully they will return to it
and improve upon what is already there. Maybe add/change some the game's mechanics, I still enjoy it though. Great pic by the way, you have done it justice and beefying up the dragon is always a plus in my book

All of this makes me remember the Angry Joe show review of Dragon Commander.
Personnaly I always wanted a battle against other dragons, epic battles with cliffhangers, even some RPG elements from past games like Dragon Knight Saga and using the dragon to explore Rivelon. Battles in dragon commander always feel the same. There are no single player campaing element like "protect the base", "explore this", "do that" etc.

HOLY CRAP AK! THAT LOOKS AWESOME!!! You did an EXTREMELY epic job drawing this guy! I absolutely LOVE how you drew him! He just looks so damn cool! I absolutely love the pose you drew him too! And as usual, you did a truly phenomenal job drawing the muscles! He looks extremely huge and powerful! I really love this piece! I'm really looking forward to seeing this colored a lot :)

I can tell you enjoyed making this guy! It really shows! That's one thing I simply adore and love about your art style! You make your dragons look so extremely strong, muscular, and powerful, yet they still maintain their extremely awesomeness and don't overdo it (unless you want to). You make the muscles turn the creature into a fierce force of raw power and even manage to make them still look very majestic and mystical :)
