Historic Outfit - Sassanid Prince (by PelzigenGuillotine)
This is my golden jackal Auric, drawn dressed as a Sassanid Prince by PelzigenGuillotine because, well, how often do you see characters dressed in middle eastern armor as opposed to European or Asian? The Sassanid Empire was the last great Persian empire before the adoption of Islam and its territories coincide well with the range of the golden jackal. At its height it controlled from Egypt to Pakistan, including the South Caucasus. Interestingly, the Sassanian royal symbol is the Simurgh or Senmurv, a 'dog-bird' that was originally described as a gryphon-like bird, with a dog's head. Auric may not have his wings in this drawing but you can still see his eartip and tail feathers. The things that look like 'pom-poms' on his back are decorations, probably to help identify individuals in battle.
