As my latest 'sweeps month' - May, 2015 - continues, I thought I'd honor an annual event, that's having its inaugural year in the USA: Namely, "Red Nose Day" (taking place on Thursday, May 21st). Not since the days when Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, and (the late) Robin Williams performed together in several "Comic Relief" telethons, has humor played an important role in raising money...

Celebrated annually (for decades) in the UK, "Red Nose Day" is a charity event, benefiting various children's organizations. And all one has to do is wear a clown's big red nose during the day. (Here in America, you can pick a nose... er, I mean pick up a nose for $1.00 at your local Walgreen's pharmacy!) There will even be a TV special on NBC (in celebration of "Red Nose Day"), Thursday evening at 8:00 PM, E.S.T./7:00 PM, C.S.T.

My RL self will be donning the red nose - while performing my usual janitorial duties, and visiting my counselor - all day Thursday. But I thought I'd post an image of my bobcat 'fursona' with his red nose a few days early... just to inspire some of you to render your own characters (fat or thin, muscular or weak, and regardless of species), sporting a crimson schnozzola by this Thursday...

So, come on, gang... No matter when in the world you are, do your part and celebrate "Red Nose Day"! <*O*>
