Maara was adamant that she would never commit to anyone again, certain she was not made for it after her previous failed experiences. Aike, however, came along and woke her up, letting her experience something she thought she couldn't. It was unexpected and sudden but the two clicked so well after meeting the first time.
I have to admit I am absolutely in love with this piece. It's gorgeous in every way imaginable and just exudes warmth and happiness from every seam. Expressions are spot on, from Aike's jovial smile to Maara's stoic pleased face. The pose and their postures are perfect and true to their characters. Honestly, everything is just right.

Awww wow, this is amazing! And I say that not just because of the quality of the piece, but also because I know Maara as a character, and just how rare and amazing this moment would be. Maara's heart is shielded by one hell of a tough outer wall, so for someone to have come along and found the secret way through... that's beautiful.
Picture-wise, as you say, this is just excellent. Both show such perfect expressions, and anatomy-wise, they are really well done! I also of course love that Aike and Marra's paws are right before each others' - you can just see them pressing them together, sole-to-sole and leaning back to just hold one another. Very touching. ^_^
