The following journal belonged to USCM soldier Corporal Connor Norman, stationed on USS [REDACTED] during its peacekeeping operations on Planet [REDACTED]. It sheds some light onto his activities on the planet, up to and including the Grounded uprising and subsequent civilian evacuations. Corporal Norman's current location is unknown.

The picture kinda reminds me of a sci-fi book I read once, though can't for the life of me remember the name or the author. The story was about a human male (a diplomat or such?) who meets a high-ranking avian female -- only the meeting was supposed to be with a male of her species, so the guy had the wrong gift to present her (which caused offense, of course), though eventually through the story they end up getting involved with one another. The story had something to do with paranormal / psi / god-making plot where the guy somehow ends up with some ability that enables him to "shift" out of the space-time continuum and he meets other people who can do so, while they can look at the "river" of time and observe / manipulate events. I've been trying to find the story as it was pretty good (I read it back in the late 1970's, or maybe around 1980-82 at latest).
