Not so much be static, it's a tank hunter, having no turret means that it can be alot lower to the ground than a turreted vehicle, as well as simpler, so it would be less likely to be seen. It would probably sit and wait for the best time to fire, then as soon as the shot is fired, back up and move to a different location and repeat the process. So while it's important that they not be seen, it's just as important that they be able to move to different locations quickly.
The "profile" or hieght is one of the biggest detriments to an armored vehicle. (most Euro countries have dedicated anti-tank teams, just not the U.S.)
If an Anti-tank team (AT team) can "see" an armored vehicle, they can hit, and either disable or destroy it.
We have the new Javelin, a fantastic AT missile system that targets and then "dives" a rocket onto the tank from above, where the weak armor is... we are about 15 years late in this, though... the Carl Gustav, Blow-pipe, and others from Europe just had a downward firing shaped charge...
But low-profile will save your ass from be boiled, when you are a tanker.

A classic, if updated, Ambush Gun, like the almighty Jagdpanther (may fave) or the Jagdtiger...The Russkies and Swedes both stole this concept later, though I think they were never fielded them in any great numbers.
I have GOT to get over there and drool all over your museums!
Despite past political problems, your Nation seems to have a healthy respect for preserving it's military tech past... very commendable.
Right now, in my city, they are cutting up F-14's and B-52's.... so sad.

preserving it's military tech past. . .
Well ever seen which company's build German tank today.
For example Kraus Maffei Wegmann , in the war they build tanks and today they build the Leopard 2 .
Or another Example i often use because they got an factory or to be precisely two (Neulüß and Unterlüß only a few meters between then XD ) a few km away of my home . "Rheinmetall" they build cannons of all sort and caliber in the war (like the 600mm Mortar or the Eighty Eight ) . And today they build cannons like the L44 ( the M256 in the M1 Abrams is the license product of it ) , the better L55 what were used in the last versions of the Leopard 2, the L52 that were used in the Pzh2000 (Panzerhaubitze 2000) and lots of other weapons . Together with all sort of ammunition and even civil stuff ( at the moment more of that ^^ ) .
But back to the theme well it also helped to be the border of the east and west in the cold war . If the cold war were getting hot my county were the battlefield so it was always use for weapons to frighten the enemy . Every side of the border wanted to have the better arguments and to preserving the military tech past helped .
And btw I'm still not finished with posing all good pics i take .

True, and these companies have been making waffen und munition for a loooong time... but then there's Krupp Werke.... they make coffee makers now, and blenders... their old cannons were great! BASF made parts for the A-4 (I think) and now they make film...
I want to go to the old test ranges, used during WW2, where they tested all the strange weapons and munitions like the concrete mortars shells and such, Kummersdorf! I also wanna go to Peenemunde...I wanna go real bad...
The Rheinmetall 120mm gun is awesome!
Please do keep posting pics, they are great!

That explains why the whole museum was full with Soldiers of the Royal Netherlands Army on my last trip .
