Attention! Vivid blues may burn your retinas. XD
At least that happened to me.
Somehow my scanner can't cope with blue vivid colours and shadings. This is a totally new side I just got to know of it. *wags finger towards her scanner* It could cope with it after trying out different adjustments because I don't like changing things in Photoshop since it could spoil the original picture so much.

It took me quite a bunch of time but I'm very pleased with the result. When I finally considered the picture as finished, I noticed that there is something missing so I added a couple of oak leaves to it. XD Just imagine it without... it would be just.. naked. XP
I struggled with the colouring of the wings because I had to put several layers of coloured pencil on them to get to this result. That took me a very long time too. But in the end, it was so much fun to draw especially the face of him and the background which I kept rather simple. :3

Ich bin ja ehrlich gesagt nicht sooo der Fan von Anthrovögeln, aber das Bild ist einfach nur toll. Das Bild spricht mich einfach nur an, was auch daran liegen kann, daß ich blau so gerne mag ... Klasse Arbeit. :) (Btw. Ich mag nicht nur den Vogel selbst, der Hintergrund ist auch toll. ;))
Gosh... how I envy Americans for their Blue Jays. Seriously. o.o I wanna be able to have such a magnificent blue bird in my garden, too. *sobs*
Well ... anyway, if this is what your scanner spits out being unable to cope with blue, than I can only try to imagine how awesome this must look in real. I absolutely love the light in this picture, especially the are in the upper center, where it seems to be "flowing" down like a waterfall. The entire background scene is so light, yet not blurred. And I absolutely adore the twig the jay is sitting on. The bark and the little oak leave look so wonderful. :D
