After the initial pour, it can be used 24-48 hours. But typically it needs to sit about 4-6 weeks to let harden and for as much liquid to evaporate from it.

Yeah, depending on the fragrances, oils, temps and how much you mix it, it'll set up faster.

This particular one was barely mixed and done around 120 degrees, plus the fragrance actually reversed the trace (thickening) of the batter. =3

for someone who wants to make them at home
for personal use instead of buying all the kit
stuff.. an wants to use the milks an stuff like you

I would definitely stick with Youtube. I can point you in the right direction to some of the best. Soaping101 and Soap Queen. Also A&N Suds and Such. Her name is Jen and she owns an online store where you can get a good bit called BeScented. You can also get 95% of basic oils/butters from local stores.

The easiest recipe is for Castile soap, which is a 100% olive oil. All you need is pure olive oil, lye and water. But this particular recipe takes about 6 months to dry up enough to really use it.
