This is Roura, GUARD to Ruby :D

Roura was a young up & coming warrior in the GUARD
She was strong, fast and praised by her elders as a prodigy due to her skills with which she hadn't failed at anything she had set her mind to. But as time went on Roura was at age to take on her primary duties as a GUARD which was to bond & protect someone special on Earth. She was excited for this of course as it was quite an accomplishment for her, she was sent to the planet's surface to search for her companion she was designated to protect & with her skill she managed to find him within a day where as others would spend weeks searching.

Her companion was a handsome young Fox by the name of Kevin, he was very smart & quite successful it was hard to imagine why someone like this would need protecting but she didn't question the ways of her people. Shortly after locating Kevin she waited for the perfect moment of which to confront him & tell him of what was to come.

To her surprise he took the news far more calmly then what she was told to expect which to her just made this assignment much easier, so easy in fact that Kevin had her move into his apartment which was very unorthodox from the stories she had heard but what came from it was a growing bond with her new room mate and a far better understanding of his world.

Some months had passed and not once were the two threatened or attacked which seemed odd to her at first but as the days went on she took advantage of calm time to enjoy herself a bit, a luxury she would quickly regret. As she had grown more comfortable she had let her guard down, which is exactly what the enemy was waiting for before they made they're attack.

It was quick & sudden as everything she had grown to enjoy in her new life was quickly eradicated, as she moved in to retaliate. Keeping Kevin at a safe distance as best she could she fought off the beasts with a vicious fury for what seemed like hours finding herself injured and weakened by the growing numbers she feared for what would happen to Kevin if she failed but it was a truth she would find out all too soon as she was eventually over run & taken down by her foes as she was forced to watch as the merciless monsters devoured the light from Kevin's life. She had failed.
As the monsters fled with there new prize, Roura; weak & broken did her best to crawl over to where Kevin laid with barely any life left in him as she approached him tears welling up in her eyes as she caressed his cheek:
"Kevin..? Kevin i'm so sorry.... this shouldn't have happened.. I shouldve been stronger..." she forced the words through the tears running down her cheeks now as Kevin had weakly brought his paw up to her face clearing away her tears as he looked to her with his dim eyes "Don't do that... beat yourself up over this.. I'm glad you were here, you opened my eyes to so many things and for that I thank you for all that you've done.." his body was starting to fade "but please don't cry just keep living for both of us now..." he managed to whisper before his body withered away before her eyes.

A few weeks after Kevin's death with no home to go to now, Roura found herself wandering the forests aimlessly with no purpose or destination she was broken & defeated. She was the first GUARD to lose a companion in centuries she had no purpose now but to wander around.
One day she made her way to a large lake that seemed to stretch for miles standing at the waters edge as the waves washed over her feet, she had reached her limit. Her silence was broken however by a young woman, a raccoon at that approaching her slowly "hey.. are you alright? you look like you're hurt.." she asked calmly as she moved a bit closer before keeping a small distance between the two as Roura looked at the girl, the first person she'd seen in days "I-I failed... I let him die.." she began to say as she dropped to her knees causing the young coon girl to go over to her taking Roura into her arms she held her head against her chest "shhh... it's ok.. you're ok now" she whispered into her ear as she tried to keep Roura from breaking down further then she already seemed "listen.. come home with me and let me help you, okay? I promise you'll be fine.." she stroked her back softly to calm her down as Roura looked up at the girl giving a slight nod as she knew if she was left alone any longer she would surely die in her current state "Hey my name is Ruby what's your name?" she asked with a sweet smile which somehow made her feel like everything would really be okay

"M-my name is Roura.. Thanks for saving me..."
