In lieu of a page this week (and for the next couple weeks, sorry!!),
korat korat and I have been working on refining our ideas on the T10K universe! We are finalizing the ideas we've presented in the past, trimming off the fat and formatting stuff for public consumption, ie. for future print. That said, we've decided to show you guys a glimpse of the spoiler-free stuff. ;D
#2 in the character cards, Agent Greene!
These have been a ton of fun for us to put together. We'll be working on longer profiles (these are just short and simple to fit on the layout of the card) for the website and also a section on the Aspect Ranks and how they work/relate in the T10K world!

Tracey is muscular but Greene is only athletic? Considering what Greene looked like on the medical stretcher... yeah, I'm never letting this go. Someone just slap a chip and dales outfit on the sand weasel.
Moving along to actually talking about Greene here... I'm actually surprised that chain smoking is a health risk. I mean, he breathes fire after all. One would assume a little tar wouldn't bother him.
And if I'm reading those notes on his olfactory sense right... he can smell magic? Or what is basically magic when you're done with the window dressing of trying to justify it with biology and physics. I guess there is more than one reason than their relationship that he and Agent Piper are a team.

LOL okay I laughed at that. XD as a spoiler, we've been working on a Tracey poster (special edition!) That, uh, shows what we consider 'muscular', lol. The idea is that since he's educated, doesn't care what food tastes like, and is continually active, he has an easier time being and staying fit. (He likes food with interesting texture over flavour.)
As for Greene's biological composition, his fire breathing has little to do with his lungs or respiratory system! So unfortunately, all that tar has been collecting in there for a while now...
As for his olfactory senses, he can sooorta smell 'magic'. Certain phenomenon does actually leave traces that can be detected by special receptors embedded in Agent Greene's sinuses, and every event is different. He's been trained to look for certain scents, and can identify the types. You know that ozone smell that's left over after a static spark or a lightning strike (lol or sometimes before)? That's the type of residue he picks up on, except it's mystical shit like ectoplasm, lol. He can tell you what a photon smells like, for example.
Teamed up with his magical girlfriend, they're basically the perfect detective team for this kind of work. :D But it goes deeper than that... ;)

Hi, West here on Kardi's phone/account! :D (lol I'm visiting atm XD )
Sweet, allow me to answer all the questions! :D
Bloodtypes: rather than go thru the arduous task of listing every single species bloody pe (horses have seven types alone, let alone cats.. and who knows what bloodtypes dragons or unicorns have, lol!), we've just universalized bloodtypes the same way we've universalized how they eat food (spoiler: everyone's an omnivore).
Fire-breathing: Alex's ability is not tied into his lungs whatsoever! So that tar is still caking up in his lungs, yum! Also he only wishes he was as suave as Clark Kent. ;D
The codenamed are obscure puns particular to the agent. Spoiler: Zeus throws lances made of lightning, and a Bracket is a journalism/English device that highlights an important or particular detail. ;)
And thank you! We're still pooping these things out, so thank you for reading the details (and asking the right questions)! :D

Haha, most of it is compiled of parking tickets, but he has one international violation that gets addressed later! And yep, you've got it! The mucin acts as a shield against intense heat, to trap ash and assorted toxins, and also to seal up sinuses and throat, to prevent him from inhaling open flame at the wrong moment. The fuel he produces is hypergolic, which means it will ignite upon contact with oxygen, so if he sucks air into the fuel sac inside his body, he will basically explode from the inside out. So before he flames, his mouth and throat closes up with goop, and afterwards he has to hack it up and spit it out, which is super gross. XD /runonsentences
Hey, thanks! I did a lot of research on what other people have done to explain dragonfire and wanted to do something completely different. So I started reading up on animal defense mechanisms and fireproof materials and discovered hydrogel and the hagfish. The rest is history!
