Even though he is the son of Turo Goldklaue, he never met his father and therefore took on the familyname of his late mother.

He hat to take care of himself from a very young age on since his mother succumbed to a sickness. Ares joined an order of mercenary soldiers and later on took over leadership. The order became the order of Fog and built up a network all over Gralanok to control everything
