Madusa's little contribution to Dastardly's genetic mix that eventually led to the creation of the Dragon Lady clone, Shimera, can be most apparently seen in Shimera's forked tongue and hir dual snaketails. Possessing two distinct colors and their own disparate personalities, the red hooded one appears to be female and is named Regina while the white finned one appears to be make and is referred to as Anton.

These tails often appear to act as sort of an external conscience and mental stabalizer for the often confused hermaphrodite as hir own brain assaults hir with conflicting, contradictory impulses and information. Though the tails are mute, they are capable of seemingly emotional expression so their intent can usually be read by others. It's still unknown if Shimera recieves any sort of thought input from them either telepathically or via their nervous system connected to hirs. Shi appears to have no control over either tail though they can act to indicate hir mood much like in cats or dogs.

As a general rule, Regina reacts mostly to what are considered positive stimuli and more civilized states of though while Anton appears attracted to more violent impulses and actions or other baser instincts and needs such as survival. One might be tempted to think of them in terms of good and evil but Regina's influence could cause Shimera to hesitate at a critical moment and leave the hermpahrodite open to grave injury while Anton's reaction may save hir and possibly others. It's ultimately up to Shimera hirself to make the best possible decision with what the two serpentine tails have to offer.
