Bowser needed a vacation. the kids were stressing him out, he was pulling out his mane over Mario's last visit, and the noise from reconstructing the damaged parts of his keep were keeping him up at night. He needed to get away... and despite his initial apprehension, he went to Yoshi Island. He swore he came in peace and just wanted a nice little cabana on the beach, plenty of good food to eat, and some peace and quiet.

The yoshi chief was skeptical at first, posting guards near Bowser's hut. He had, after all been the one to protect a baby Mario from the koopa prince's clutches all those years ago, and he'd heard nothing but bad news about his behavior since then. But as time went on and the koopa king showed no inclination to take over the island or rampage or even snort fire at someone, the chief himself would pay visits and keep their guest company. Really, when Bowser wasn't feeling the need to act like a tyrannical megalomaniac, he was actually a nice guy to talk to! They'd chat and eat and eat and stroll the beach and eat some more and enjoy a yoshi feast or two or three... In the end, they became good friends. And pretty darn fat.

"Hey, uh, Chief. I just wanna, um... I wanna say thanks for not kickin' me off the island when I showed up. I've really been enjoyin' myself this last month..."

"Haha, I can see that~!"
