A quickie portrait of Nym’s sister, Calluna! This is the first time I’ve depicted her wearing lion claw necklace, and there’s a little story behind it.

Calluna is the ambassador to the outer cat clans; a group of enormous primordial warrior felines who consider Alecani food. They respect strength and cunning, and will listen to any warrior who can hold their own in a one-on-one match.

During Calluna’s first encounter with the outer cat clans as ambassador, they sent a huge lion warrior to scare her off. Delicate prim Calluna didn’t budge as he stood, towering over her. Her calm face didn’t flinch as he raised his giant clawed paw to decapitate her. As his claws came down she deftly moved with the blow, grasping his pinky toe by the claw, and used his momentum to fling the lion clear across the field.

Yeah, she’s a LOT of strength in a little package!

The unfortunate lion’s claw came off in the impressive throwing maneuver, which Calluna kept as a symbol of her strength to the rest of the outer cats. She carved a delicate floral pattern into it and dons it as a necklace. Wherever she goes, the outer cats know her by this trophy.
