Speaking as someone who is both a son of the American West and a student of the history thereof, I can say with authority that folks guilty of Mr. Clay's alleged crimes filled these deserts and mountains after the Civil War.

For some added perspective, Mr. Grey's given stats make him slightly taller and somewhat heavier than Chris Reeve when he did Superman (1978). Impressive enough for our own era, that would make him "a mountain of a man" back in the days of the Wild West. Indeed, he outweighs the great Big John of song, by over forty pounds.
