Rasslants are a passive species, easy to deal with and not easily aggravated. They are unhurried and have a lumbering gait. They are solitary creatures, carnivores whose diet consists of small creatures and insects. Using its long, sticky tongue, it can ensnare a small creature long enough to devour it. It has a sweet-smelling and sticky growth at the end of its tongue, to attract and capture its prey.
Winged Rasslants cannot actually fly; their wings are much too small for their bulky bodies. Rather, they have vestigial wings and they are really only for decorative purposes now. A Rasslant's tongue and eyes emit a soft glow and when angry or distressed, a Rasslant's mane will fluff and expand to produce a noxious gas. Though hard to see, a Rasslant does have a mouth and when angered, its mouth can tear open to be much larger.
The fur along the sides of a Rasslant smell as sweet as the growth at the end of their tongue. They would make a rather nice air freshener. Pupils appear only when a Rasslant is angered. They are stocky, solid, and each foot has large claws, primarily meant for digging. They have short, dense fur that protects them from another predator's claws and their tail is thick and powerful. They swing their tails as their primary defense, with their mane and noxious gas a secondary.
