not really... even the existence of hell is more of a pop-culture thing than a religious thing the only time it's mentioned in any holy text is once, and the word was an English translation of Ghenna the jewish word for afterlife, but ghenna has no connotations.
Milton's paradise lost and Dante's Divine Comedy created it, not theologians, and not prophets, it's basicly pop culture that has revolved around a major religion for a long time. ^,^ Actually the quote you gave is from milton... and funny enough the devil, while sympathetic and charismatic, in the book is still the bad guy because he's, hypocritical, lying, hateful of man (racist/speciest?), and power hungry, and heaven is far from incompetent in it's actions and rules. In general milton's paradise lost assumes intelligence, humanlike motives, and competence on all sides. Much like the real world.

That was more informed than I am. I appreciate that, ironwolf. I was trying to speak about the fallacies and logic behind the whole concept of heaven vs. hell. I'm not up for debate on it anymore, I'm just going to move on, due to my lack of information to full converse about the subject. Even with my limited grasp, I know some things aren't right, and assumptions of what is tends to rub me the wrong way.
yeah it's an interisting and complex topic.
I suggest you read John Milton's Paradise Lost ^,^
Also look up the divine comedy, and when you want to read it, read all three books. One for Hell, then Limbo, then Heaven. Most people stop at the first and it vastly narrows their viewpoint on the subject.
Interestingly Dante, being a part time theologian from the rennisance, put a lot of corrupt but recently dead church officials and nobles in inferno... basicly because at the time they were recognizable by their terrible reputation to the people of the time.
Man invented hell because he needed a place to put assholes after they die, god didn't say anything about eternal damnation. Just that without christ and his teachings people lack enlightenment needed to reach god.
and let's face it more than one group claiming to "speak the word of god" are far from enlightened and spewing crap... which is partly how we got IS.

yeah, in dante's stories those guys wind up in hell, it'd be fun to calculate where dante would have written them in. His works are vibrant because he was a student of history, and basically the series is sort of... what I'd call biblical fan-fiction written by a master.
Which is why it had the cultural impact of more or less inventing hell... not from whole cloth mind you... fan-works that are noncannon used to flesh out angels, powers, events, and so forth like this existed before, but his work was a culmination.
for example the devil appears twice... nope make that three times if ya wanna include some of the more vauge stuff... once when solomon uses his god granted authority and will to bind evil powers harassing his people and making them miserable, and forces them to build a grand temple, then expels them from his kingdom. Jewish Tora's got more details on that.
second time when he tempts Christ, asking him for only a little submission to evil, and offering the world in extange. Jesus's response is "get thee behind me" which is the symbolic equivalent of "go fuck yourself, I'd rather be a good man than rule the world"
Third time in revelations (which was actually recent enough that it was almost not-cannon, but the imagery was too vivid and the story of a reborn world too popular for the first church elders to leave out.) where he represents evil, and he along with Hades representing death, are kicked into an oblivion pit.
In none of these three, and only three, encounters does he have a backstory, motivation, or anything resembling a human character.
Islam gave him a backstory where he throws a cosmic bitch fit because daddy loves the new kids (ala mankind) so like a child he tries to lead a rebellion against his father. Basically the big man spanks him sends him to his room to think about what he did.
But then again the Islamic version of "hell" is basically either rebirth (for those who blended it with buddisim in china and India) or angels sorta purge the sin out of your spirit akin to refining metal from slag... the point of Islamic purity is less slag = less time ya gotta cook in the smelter. (i'm way oversimplifying this mind you.)
Milton used the Islamic backstory and combined it with famous historic rebels to create a personality and backstory for the villain of his book/fan-fic... Dante used miltion's backstory and figured ol'scratch as the ignorant, blind, impotent, and short sighted king of hell. Renaissance Europe ate it up. Protestants (who laid the bedrock for the evangelical movement during the great awakening) gave him a nice little place as "the great evil" behind all the miserable crap they had to fight and struggle against in the world.
But in the end he's no more than a bit player, and an asshole one at that, in a massive cosmic play.

My connection here is owned by a landlady, is actually 20mbps which is okay..but the problem starts when they start streaming movies and dramas..it sends my ping to 900-ish.
I tried to ask for their permission to change the router settings to QOS bandwidth but they denied me. =-=

ah, it seems they have no presence in Canada, I'm a little surprised by that. They have a massive internet backbone network, they service around a third of the US. Basically, they have good internet speeds, but they have fairly high prices for it, and their customer service is extremely horrible. Basically, if they're in your area you just about have to sell your soul because they nickle and dime you for service that is below what they promise, and call them to complain is a waste of your time that they may well charge you for.
I understand you soo well :x Back when I first moved to the university I was using the service they offered. Result ? Connection was nearly unusable 90% of the time with ping on evenings ( and actually not just evenings) ranging from 900 to 3000 ( with a world record of 25 500 of ping 8| ). A few years later I got fed up with it and got my own ISP and such and well since that it handles like a charm. So yup I understand you all too well *pats your back*
I can relate. 24/1 mbps and operator just started giving out 200/50mbps. They even sent me a pamphlet in the mail and when I called them, they said that I need to wait until October due to the current billing season or some crap like that ending then.
"Can't I just make a new deal and get the faster one now?" "Nnnnnno."

1 Gbps won't do much when you have to cross other company lines which operate at slower speeds to save their bandwidth room.
I currently have 150Mbps down/10Mbps up with Teksavvy for $98.25 a month. Lag occurs when the line has to go through other channels to international server hubs (Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal) to the US (New York and Washington are the international server hubs for outbound connection from North America). I know there's lines in Quebec restricted to 50mbps.

So the fastest ethernet speed is 10Gbps (Which appears to use its own unique connector or high quality RJ-45 ports and also needs expensive separate adapters) So 100 Gbps will come in a bit far future i think. I think when 1 Gbps internet lines become something more common they'll start on 10 Gbps i guess.

That is true, like Google Fiber, which are only available in certain region on U.S. Same here in Korea, We have some places with experimental 1 Gbps internet. One good thing is Korea is small nation so it's easy to change / upgrade internet lines than bigger countries and i'm seeing we already have something like 500 Mbps / 300 Mbps Internet done via either optic fiber or television signal lines.
+ P.S - Story Time.
But with all seriousness, the television line method (via Coaxial Cable) is one of the worst thing i've ever used. the principle behind it is that ISP(Internet Service Provider)s will add Internet Signals in those Television Signal, and the modem filters out only the Internet Signal. And since Television lines have higher voltage and low loss late due to its thick shielded cable design it's easy to increase the overall speed in theory. But most of the companies (ISP) are actually TV broadcasting companies with small budget and even smaller budget for internet business and often the problem is they have bad network structure. Not much internet lines going inside the coutry and poor maintenance on old or broken hardware. Also the speed they advertise is Download Speed, Not the upload speed. Which means the upload / download speed in not symmetric and usually upload speeds are really, really ba don them.
It was same with my case. They were advertising 500 Mbps internet all over my region and they even throw in a discount for College students. Which applied to me. First i was impressed with 490 ~ 500 mbps download speed but weirdly enough the upload speed was about 50 mbps. Then things went really downhill from there. about few months later it has came to the point where it's so slow that i can't even watch a simple youtube video or spend minutes trying to upload single picture to FurAffinity. I did a speed test and Download speed was falling to 40~70s, and upload speed was even worse, about 5~10s. I called the ISP and they brought 5 new modems to replace but none of them worked. After a while i got a call from them an they said there's network problem in my region and their HQ is not going to fix them. But instead they decided to give choice to cancel the internet subscription without any charge for cancelling within the contract period. So i had to cancel it and switch back to old ISP, who uses fiber lines. This has actually brought me a lot of bad problems later as well.
