A digital wing-it sketch commission for
Tailsteak (husband of
missmab), who writes and draws Leftover Soup, a webcomic that I would I suggest checking out because it's funny, thought provoking and well written and I'm totally not biased I swear. ;P
The character in question is one of the secondary characters, she owns a computer parts and repair business and sometimes that includes fixing and cleaning keyboards. Pretty sure she's not sponging up Mountain Dew here...

This is likely one of the keyboards that wouldn't fare well in a dishwasher or sink. I'll be purchasing a new keyboard in the near future, I will consult the instructions to find out if that particular model will hold up to that method of cleaning if it ever comes to it; tho I'm a fan of the flip and shake method of keyboard cleaning myself.: )
(My current keyboard is borrowed and I wouldn't clean it with water without asking permission first).

Oh. It's 'if you know what your doing'. You need to know the key tech behind it and it's still a risk. But many handle it well. The instructions are a bit over-paranoid.
At the very worst, you can pop off all the keycaps, take off the case and what all the plastic in whatever you like.
If you want a garanteed washable keyboard: http://store.sealshield.com/all-products-c8.aspx
But anyway, random info. :)
